Hillary is actually pretty far ahead right now. About 10 points and looking at 350 or so electoral votes. The media has concocted this story that Trump is closing the gap in order to fight apathy and make sure people turn out to vote in down ballot races.

On a related note, I think the media (especially CNN) secretly wants the race to be close so they can continue to claim that there's no liberal bias in the media.

I also think the FBI wants Clinton to win but they are firing a warning shot to show that she can't control them.

No conspiracy.  Tesla was just misguided in thinking that the masses would see the value of his alternating current idea when he electrocuted an elephant in a public demonstration. Edison just used the negative publicity from that event to turn the public against Tesla and ensure his own 'safer' direct current was the type that was used when the country began using electricity on a massive scale.  Chalk this one up to economic Darwinism.

I don't buy those, but that's what the banning DDT was about.  DDT was conveniently banned after the U.S. had eradicated its malaria problem.

Responding to their pressure, in 1971 the newly-formed Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) launched an investigation of the pesticide. Lasting seven months, the investigative hearings led by Judge Edmund Sweeney gathered testimony from 125 expert witnesses with 365 exhibits. The conclusion of the inquest, however, was exactly the opposite of what the environmentalists had hoped for. After assessing all the evidence, Judge Sweeney found: “The uses of DDT under the registration involved here do not have a deleterious effect on freshwater fish, estuarine organisms, wild birds, or other wildlife.... DDT is not a carcinogenic hazard to man.... DDT is not a mutagenic or teratogenic hazard to man.”[20] Accordingly, Judge Sweeney ruled that DDT should remain available for use.

Unfortunately, however, the administrator of the EPA was William D. Ruckelshaus, who reportedly did not attend a single hour of the investigative hearings, and according to his chief of staff, did not even read Judge Sweeney’s report.[21] Instead, he apparently chose to ignore the science: overruling Sweeney, in 1972 Ruckelshaus banned the use of DDT in the United States except under conditions of medical emergencies.[22]

What's the explanation for why it's banned in many other countries too?

You are talking about the battery banks to store renewable fuel?  Their new solar panel roof tiles are pretty compelling.  I told my wife the next roof we get will be one of those.  Tesla is doing just fine.

Knew some folk who worked on the Clinton healthcare initiative in the early 90s and they said Hillary's give-up point was when her numbers people pointed out that the then-considered huge tax increase on cigarettes to disincentivize smoking that was a key to her plan wouldn't play because the smoker bite out of medicare/socsec was so much smaller than non-smokers' that it would knock her cost projections on its ###

OPEC:  There is no real shortage of oil, it is all made up by OPEC to control the prices (similar to how the diamond market works).

Think about technology in 1940 and picture what renewable energy technology we'll have by 2100.  We simply won't have a need to burn oil for transportation so there's no risk of it running out.

I weigh in heavily on the side that Oswald did not act alone and that our government worked hard to ensure that the lone gunman theory held intact. 

Most likely was the mob, could have been Castro, CIA ...not sure, but would vote mob if I had to place my best bet.  

No way would our govt want people and/or the world to know that the mob took out our president - very embarrassing.  Also, killing the killer is typical mob/spy work ...Ruby's ties to the mob, etc.  

There was a whole thread on this quite a while back.  I recall that this belief tended to be divided along age lines, with the younger guys thinking the older guys (most) were crazy and believing they were naive.
