Depends on if I’m saying grocery store or just grocery.  Former is "gro-sree" - Latter is “gro-sher-ee.  Don’t ask me why.

I pronounce "grocer" as "gro-sir", but "grocery" as "gro-sher-ee".
Honestly, I do that as well. English is a weird language anyway. Read, lead, and reed sound alike, but so do read, red, lead and led. Cone and zone rhyme, but one doesn't.

Added Money Badger, dropped Justin Tucker.

I figured this was as good a place as any as long as we're arguing inarguable truths.

What about the word "Coupon"?  My wife, her family and several of my friends pronounce the word "QUE-pon", despite the fact that there is no letter "Q" in the word.  You don't pronounce a Military Coup with a "Q" sound, so why "Coupon"?

Having given this some thought, I've pronounced it both ways all my life.

Same thing with cue-pawn and coop-on

:goodposting:  I dont think Ive ever heard this in my life. Gro-sher-ee sounds like some sorta hillybilly speak.
I've always said it gro-shree (2 syllables).  Everyone I know says it the same way.  We ain't got time for no extra syllables.  Midwest/Nebraska.
