avulsion fracture of the ankle. it is sometimes difficult to diagnose and see. it can be trauma related, but maybe this is a sprain gone real bad.

Pretty sure that for avulsion fracture, the injury needs to occur at a high strain rate. So basically the ligament would become stiffer than the bone, and that is was gets injured. Would have to be noticeable injury, not just waking up the next morning sore.

Rolled my ankle about 6 hours ago. The pain in the top of my foot is getting worse. I can't put my full weight on it but there's minimal to no swelling and no bruising.

Am I injured or just a wuss?
