In the past couple of years, I've been miffed by the lateness of weekly projections and have expressed said miffness in this forum.

Well, if I can complain, I can praise as well. And this year, the projections have been timely all season. No pushing things back a full day from original schedule, no uncertainty of when they would come out....first run by Tuesday night and revisions and 2nd opinion by Wed night.

It's been great and I appreciate the effort.

Thanks FBG team!!!

It's pretty bad when someone gets praised for doing exactly what they've promised.
really? you must be a hit at parties.
I am. Thank you.I'm a fan of fbg's material. I think it's well worth a subscription if only for the draft dominator. But this is something they were supposed to do all along. The fact we're actually noticing it speaks volumes about how piss poor of a job they often do with deadlines.

It'd be like if I went home and proudly told everyone "Yaaay, I didn't poop my pants today!" You shouldn't get credit for doing the expected.

So congratulations fbg's. Your deadlines and promises have been so awful these past few years, that the mere fact you are now finally doing what you've promised for years warrants a pat on the back.

I get the sense that not pooping your pants would be doing the unexpected in your case.

Lotta people bragging on Bloom lately... Doods is way more timely than Sig.
Not sure what you are implying here......Dodds projections come out on Tuesday afternoon/evening and Blooms come out on Wednesday. Been that way all year.eta: In addition, they both have been timely with revisions as the week goes along.

I'm implying that Dodds gets his numbers on the table quicker than Bloom...in addition to being more accurate. There's something to be said for that.

In your case congratulations may be in order, I don't know

Dodds on Tuesday, and Bloom on Wednesday, has been the set schedule all year long. It has nothing to do with who gets them on the table quicker. As for accuracy: Dodds 60.8% - Bloom 59.2%. I'd say that is pretty darn close, but yeah, Dodds is currently ahead in that department..

So Tuesday no longer comes before Wednesday? AND 60.8 isn\'t greater than 59.2?! The times they are a-changin!!!!

No, that's exactly what you should do when you want the same behavior to continue. When your dog goes to the bathroom outside, you say "Good boy" because you want them to know they did a good job. When your kid does something you asked them to do, you tell them "Good job son" so that they know it's what you want. When a teacher has a student and they get an A+ on test, they tell them Great Job because they want them to feel good about themself and do it again. There's nothing wrong with telling FBG/Dodds that you're pleased with the work they've promised. It allows them to know they're doing a good job and that people are pleased so that they keep doing what they're doing.I think it's pretty bad when someone has a problem with someone praising someone for doing what they've promised.

Last time I checked they were a business supplying a product. Not a dog or a child.

Just had my roof torn off and put back on my some roofers, I paid their company 8,000 dollars to do it. They did a good job, exactly what I paid them for.The day they were done, I bought the crew a case of beer and pizza. I shook their hand and told them thanks for doing a good job and paid them the rest of their money. There's no shame in telling someone they did a good job for doing exactly what they promised even if you're paying them 25 dollars or 8,000.

I hate when fanboys come to the site's defense whenever there's a hint of criticism like lapdogs yapping behind a chain-link fence, but you're going overboard here. Yes, their deadlines have not been met in the past but the subscription was still considered a good deal for reasons you've mentioned. So, instead of just resting on their laurels and deciding it's worth it anyway...they actually listen to the criticism and try to do better. Not just try, but they actually do better and meet their goals. Yes, that deserves a word of praise. When a business listens to criticism and acts on it, there's nothing wrong with acknowledging it. What were their options? Ignore the criticism or act on it. They did the right thing, didn't they? Is a word of praise really out of line?

Some organizations hand out a "Most Improved" award to their chapters. I guess we could call it the "You Used To Suck" award, but achieving marked improvement is a praise-worthy goal. I agree that deadlines should be met and promises should be kept, and it's appropriate to point out when it's not happening. But when they listen and do right, acknowledging the change is appropriate, too. :kicksrock:

Prior to them completing the job were they always late and not fulfilling promises?I don't take issue with saying good job when someone does a good job. In the past FBG has done a piss poor job of getting projections out on time. This year has been much better. So I have an attitude of "It's about time" rather than "good job for fulfilling the least of your obligations"

That' fine and you're entitled to that for sure. My initial response was to a poster who said it's sad when you basically have to tell someone good job for doing what they originally promised. I disagree 100 percent with that statement in general. If you have some residual feelings about what's gone on in the past, I understand that.
