With all due respect, you are wrongThe stupidest over-used phrase in the SP. It needs to go. Let's work to put an end to it.
Replace with “which.” TIA.Random writing thought - one can eliminate about half the instances they write "that" and the writing will be stronger.
Although today we have a different understanding of literally, it used to mean the opposite.Which brings me to my next pet peeve, misuse of "literally". This should really have a thread of it's own, but I can only work towards one cause at a time.
OPM,I didn’t come up with this but...
No matter where you work, no matter what the meeting is about, 95% of the time if you say “It’s all about finding balance” everybody will agree.
Is a subforum of the Test ForumSince we're on the subject of pet peeves, how about posters who go into a thread to complain about it. Especially in the Free for all forum. Just move on instead, or go call the cops on some loiterers at the gas station or something.
And I didn't see a pet peeve forum.
can't you fine @Aaron Rudnicki for this or something?I had a meeting last week and every other sentence was some form of buzzphrase like this. It doesn't really bother me, I just find it interesting.
I don't think people come here and worry about their writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. We get enough of that in our daily lives at work, etc. We don't really need to take pride in all those things on an anonymous message board, and shouldn't have to worry about the grammar police with every post. IMOAnd what the SP is not: a literary gathering. We should still take a little more pride in our writing.
Why do you end your post with a capital O, while your name starts with a lower case o?OPM,
I don’t have a dog in that fight.
Best,
O

You know I luv ya!brohan that aint my style i say rite and let rite thats just how my momma raised me take that to the bank brochacho
You take that away from Mike Tomlin, he has nothing to say.Having said that, add “It is what it is” to the list and maybe I will join your bandwagon.
Why are both of you stealing @QuizGuy66's gimmick? Why do you end your post with a capital O, while your name starts with a lower case o?
Thanks,
John
Was Quizguy doing it before Joe Bryant?
Don't forget about BigTex. Do these guys not realize their forum names are right there for the viewing? Was Quizguy doing it before Joe Bryant?
Thanks,
Steve
Have a nice season, GWas Quizguy doing it before Joe Bryant?

The same reason that Bull Dozier doesn’t start with John. Why do you end your post with a capital O, while your name starts with a lower case o?
Thanks,

You're just making stupid stuff up then too?The same reason that Bull Dozier doesn’t start with John.
wait, who posted this? The same reason that Bull Dozier doesn’t start with John.
He used "literally" correctly. He responded because he DOES care.cloppbeast said:Which brings me to my next pet peeve, misuse of "literally". This should really have a thread of it's own, but I can only work towards one cause at a time.
BEST WHAT?!?!?!?!?Gents, let’s not miss the mark here by making the perfect the enemy of the good. Looking forward to the revised deck first thing in the morning. We’re on a short fuse here.
Best,

Peoples also come here to read other posts for some insight. So as a matter of politeness posters should make their replies with the reader in mind. Grammar is not my concern. I think the brohans guy is hilarious, it's excellent writing imo. Bothering me is the endless supply of content-free cliches we have to suffer through. I can't even read some of the dissertations on this board they're so bad.I don't think people come here and worry about their writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. We get enough of that in our daily lives at work, etc. We don't really need to take pride in all those things on an anonymous message board, and shouldn't have to worry about the grammar police with every post. I realized this later when I sobered up. Apologies. He used "literally" correctly. He responded because he DOES care.
Most people who say "I could care less" don't actually mean what they're are saying, and actually mean the literal opposite of what they're saying.
Language separates us from primates, and not much else.I had a meeting last week and every other sentence was some form of buzzphrase like this. It doesn't really bother me, I just find it interesting.
I... have... I have no response, that was perfect.Recent research has shown the empirical evidence for globalization of corporate innovation is very limited. And as a corollary, the market for technologies is shrinking.
As a world leader, it is important for America to provide systematic research grants for our scientists. I believe there will always be a need for us to have a well-articulated innovation policy with emphasis on human resource development. Thank you.
This is brilliant.I'll start replacing it with "having typed that" when I post here.
Having read that, I think I will too.I'll start replacing it with "having typed that" when I post here.
