I think she mislead Snow on that one - perhaps on purpose. She only said she saw a woman/girl whom Snow cared about that would come to Castle Black. Wasn't the twist that the woman was his Wildling ex-girlfriend?

What a fantastic episode. Feels like I've been saying it a lot, but that was one of my favorites in the entire series. This season rules.

I was pumped right from the opening scene. All the Arya/Brotherhood scenes were awesome, actually. One of the things that I'd wanted to see more was Arya's darker side. Feels like they've kept her at PG-13 level, but that anger inside of her is part of what makes the character so interesting in the books.

Man, Karstark's beheading was a powerful scene as well. It's Robb being like his dad, instead of doing the prudent thing.

Also, the Lannisters' interactions are always among the best parts of each episode. Excellent ending.

Glad to see Jamie starting to climb up from rock bottom. Despite his story, though, Brienne instinctively called out "KIngslayer" when he started to pass out in the tub, of course, he corrected her. Those two are one of my favorite storylines moving forward.

It's funny to me because at first, you're just supposed to hate the Lannisters. And really, when I think of them as a whole, I still feel like I hate them, except that basically my two favorite characters are damn lions.

She's done a great job at being evil, conniving, arrogant Cersei when she had free reign and now becoming a petulant child whose arrogance is being hacked away by daddy. I didn't much care for her portrayal in S1, S2 she found her stride but was still pretty predictable in her reactions and relied mostly on the material but this season she's really showing depth and nailing every scene with haughtiness and shame. Great job.

Also have to hand it to the actor playing Jaime. I've never even heard of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (yes I had to look it up), but he's done an incredible job going from a cocky, arrogant POS to the broken man we saw in the last episode.

The one child best able to keep the Lannister family in a position of extreme power and sustainability is the one child Tywin detests the most. Cersei has shown the uncanny ability to be outwitted and unable to control Joffrey. Jaime is in the King's Guard and isn't ruthless enough to head the family and keep them empowered and feared (especially now after he's changing after his hand was cut off...).

Meh - she can still do everything including scenes in future years as a "teenager" The actress is 16 now, and is playing a 13-14 yo on TV. By the time she gets to Bravoes the character for TV could easily be a 16-yo without losing any of the translation from the books.

The TV audience won't have any problem with the characters aging (and probably would have had a problem had the characters played at their ages in the books).

There's also a certain faceless man in Oldtown trying to find texts on how to kill dragons. There's also a dire wolf left loose in the middle of Westeros with which Arya has a nascent warg connection. I don't think Arya is just a side plot.

I suppose it depends on your view of what the story line really is...

1. She saw her fathers head chopped off

2. She escapes

3. She vows revenge

4. She was captured

5. She meets a mystery man who can change his face (we later learn someone with similar abilities is attempting to break in a steal something from the Citadel.

6. She escapes

7. She vows revenge

8. She is recaptured

9. She escapes

10. She vows revenge

11. She is "recaptured" by the Hound who intends to take her "home" or as close thereto as he can get her.

12. She escapes

13. She vows revenge

That is all before she gets to Bravos and the Faceless men. And before she trains to become an assassin. Did I mention she is sorta into a whole revenge thing? Too bad everyone she intends to kill will be already be dead. Oh, and that whole "Huge wolf wandering the countryside leading a smaller pack of wolves" dream thing. That too.

I'd say she has had the most varied experience, traveling far and wide. And her exposure and interaction with many of the players characters is pretty good stuff. Hell, she heard the entire plot to have/get Ned skill when she was chasing a cat in the bowels of the Red Keep.

I found it interesting to see the foreshadowing in her convo with Dondarion last week. She was asking if they could bring back her father. Meanwhile, they will be bringing back her mother...

That said, she is probably my 5th favorite POV to read.

Because the Mad King was the exception, not the rule. With the Targaryens in charge, the Realm experienced 300+ years of relative peace. Before their time, the 7 kings fought with each other and with lesser lords constantly. The common folk in that time were nothing but pawns in the chess game their lords played with other lords. After the Targaryens conquered the land, the life of the common man improved immeasurably. If Varys is truly for Targaryen rule, it has to do with this.
