Sansa is (officially) Littlefinger's ******* daughter. Why would anyone be surprised if he used her that way? He's Lord Paramount over the Riverlands and Regent over the Vale.
Aren't the Frey's Lords over the Riverlands. I thought that Tywin upjumped them?
No, the Frey's hold the Twins which is a very important river crossing. They are bannermen of House Tully (I think), who are the lords of the Riverlands.

Why the frack would the Bolton's want to marry Ramsey off to Littlefinger's *******? I'm sure they'd swap out a fake Stark for a real one, but that's it.

Even worse.

You remember that part where the Freys murdered a whole ####-ton of Tullys at a wedding? Yeah, I don't think they're exactly friends anymore.

Yeah, I thought in the episode afterwards either in the conversation between Roose and Walder or at the Small Council meeting...there was a mention that the Tully's got kicked to the curb and that the Freys were now considered the Lords of the Riverlands.

I can't imagine Sansa inherits Jeyne Poole's storyline, which is perhaps the most brutal/tragic fate of any character in the series.

Both the Twins and Riverrun are basically west of the Vale. I figure they're going to Riverrun to catch up Edmure and/or the Blackfish. I'm hoping it's the Blackfish. Maybe they go to the Twins so Littlefinger can work a deal with the Freys. I don't think the Freys have any idea what Sansa looks like. Only problem with that is Littlefinger said they're going to a place where Sansa wouldn't have to worry about Cersie getting her hands on Sansa and the Twins aren't exactly unbeholden to the Lannisters at this point.

As Uruk-Hai and others have noted, the season previews and other tidbits from interviews indicate Sansa will end up at Winterfell this season. Perhaps she arrives after Stannis takes it back, but the preview/leaked information suggests a Bolton connection, hence the theory her character may conflate with the Jeyne Poole role.

Re Sansa - from Episode 2

Brienne catches up to Sansa and Littlefinger at a tavern. She swears her fealty to Sansa, but Littlefinger points out that Brienne has previously sworn to protect Renly and Catherine with less than stellar results, and to add insult to injury, Sansa reminds Brienne that she had bent the knee to Joffry. So, Sansa declines her protection and sends Brienne on her way (Brienne refuses to give up, and kills a bunch of knights chasing her, but for now Sansa prefers to stick with Littlefinger)

I don't understand why HBO is doing this then. At all.

When she walks into Winterfell, everyone knows who she is...

Leaked

Through 3 episodes: The book was not very clear, but for the show jaqen h'ghar is still around - plays a familiar role from the book. Arya story line progresses as you would expect.

Jamie and Bron take off for Dorn to rescue Myrcella.

Littlefinger delivers Sansa to Bolton to marry Ramsey - some kind of deal going on. Sansa seems to be OK with it :oldunsure: Reek is around, and trying not to be noticed.

Tyrion is captured by Mormont.

Snow wins election - quickly - then chops off Slynt's head the next episode.

The ground work for Cersei's downfall is well underway. High Sparrow comes to power in episode 4

Leaked

Littlefinger's basic plan is for Stannis to rescue Sansa from the Bolton's and appoint her Wardeness of the North

Leak - dead person spoiler

Oh, I think Barristan Selmy dies at the end of episode 4 - assuming he is really dead, another deviation from the book...

To be fair, there are nothing in those links that haven't been inferred all over the web since the Season 5 trailers came out and haven't been discussed in this very thread. But stay away from those links if you don't want to "know".

I have no idea how the showrunners are gonna pull this off. They're obviously consolidating characters and plot lines (especially given what happened Sunday night), but it's hard to say at this point whether they've gone completely rogue in regards to Martin's future story line or have just compacted and sped things up.

Speculation: she will express no regret. she will express sheer unapolagetic satisfaction, just like every time she visits the room that no one else but littlefinger knows about, the one he wont even speak about. she will bring him wine and food every day, and all the clothes from joffrey's wardrobe, and his jewels and crown and various things she collects as the south is plundered, she will also bleach his hair and dye it to look as close to white gold as she can keep it. she will call him joffrey and using rhis very own torture devices she will teach him to be a kind, polite, and loving prince Joffrey, just like she always wanted.

I have a theory that khaleesi's subplot is dumbed down because HBO felt the female demographic couldn't handle moral greyness and ambiguity. I think there was a funny moment last season where she crucified some guy who had been the only ruler to denounce the killing of slave children and his son wasn't even mad about it. Everything about her story is so different in tone and intelligence it's jarring. Just acres and acres of exotic brown people telling her how great she is.

when she has one of the former slaves beheaded, I think that changes things on the ground for her...

"The more she drank, the more she shat.

But the more she shat, the thirstier she grew."

Epic.

I don't get why anyone is this thread is testy about spoilers for the non-cannon TV show. How is that ANY different from every season up til now? Its not.

After reading the spoilers (I cant help it)

Im happy theyre taking what seems to be a different direction than the where the books appeared to be headed. Its like 2 stories in one for me
