I personally am an equal opportunity dater, into the beautiful ladies of all ethnicities. But, I get people into only a certain type. Lots of people are like that. I really don't see the concept as inherently racist. If there are sites for groups as narrow as farmers, ethnic sites like j-date, etc. Everybody was fine with all of those, they should be fine with this.

There are practical reasons that a farmer might want to date/marry other farmers or Jews might want to date/marry other Jews. No decent non-racist human being has ever said "you're just not compatible with my white lifestyle" or "it's important to me that we raise our kids white."

That sounds great but if we roll back the tapes 50+ years in this country, a drop in the bucket of human history, we find a very scary and unsafe place for a lot of blacks in this country. We whipped them around the plantations filling the pockets of not just Southerners but also wealthy Northerners who were talking up war on one side of their mouth but all to eager to speak business and profit from the cotton industry out of the other side. Believe it folks, people were making money on the backs of blacks whether they wore the rebel flag or not.

So while I agree on one hand that it would be nice if we could all move forward, you have to be naive to think everything is a level playing field. I teach to classes that are 75-90% black and I try my hardest to show them the true history of events and how we got to this place which is usually a lot different than their crazy Uncle told them.

These kids are taught from an early age by at least one or two in the family to not trust the white man. Many of them are still living from the previous era in this country, and I say can you blame them for teaching this to their kids? Yes it's our job to prove them wrong and show them we want to help not hinder. You can't erase what an entire race of people did over hundreds of years in one or two generations of free tuition for those who were born way behind the 8-ball to begin with.

That said, there are no VICTIMS in MOP's class. That is one of the first things we learn. There is no need to be. You have rights in this country, god given rights just for being born in this country, the very country that many years ago did your people wrong. But you don't live in those times any more thankfully...you have access to a terrific life if you will let me show you the way...and that's pretty much the sales pitch the first week of school. Thankfully the kids buy in to the message from the 6 foot 2 Irishman with a big Irish walking stick tapping their desk all the while I tell them how much I love them

I guess what these guys are looking for is not only white women, but white women who are not on a site that may let them see profiles of any black men.

Above it showed a profile picture of an Asian girl on this site - with the note that the site can't actually prevent anyone from joining. If so, why couldn't a black man join as well? Given the name of the site he might not find it very productive, but I don't think the site could or would stop him from joining.

The OP here pretty much said that this site (if it in fact contained only white people, which apparently it doesn't) is no different really than Match.com with it's question of what you're seeking (white, black, Asian, whatever). I agree with that. If that's the case, why didn't they also slam match for that option?

Why not? Well, an obvious place to start would probably be America's (and the world's) white supremacist history. The existence of dating sites that cater to oppressed minority groups or religions doesn't make it OK to validate long-held racist attitudes about white supremacy, segregation and mixed-race relationships. It's a false equivalence.

Bizarrely, despite the fact that the website is clearly for white people only, anyone over the age of 18 can technically join. Because anti-discrimination laws would probably pose a problem if the site actually prohibited non-whites from joining.
