Yes - have done it on teams never in an email
I would never do a heart because I would be worried about whoever it was sent to taking it in a way that wasn't meant and being brought up on HR harassment charges. You never know how the other person is going to take it so why risk it in this day and age.
I see it in Teams but not emails (yet).

Yeah, I see it now- I initially read it as emoji and scrolled through every single one.
In Slack there is a checkmark emoji, so I use that for "I acknowledge this but have no further comment."
