I have had the final call on health insurance for 18 years, no slant but trying to do the best for our employees. I look at plans and dont give a crap about anything else. All I was trying to do, without bs, tell us your options and let us help if we can.
In the individual market you have until 12/15/15 (unless extended) to pick a plan for a 1/1/16 effective date. You have until the end of January, though, to enroll, it will just be effective either 2/1/16 or 3/1/16 depending on when you enroll.
Go with the option that offers the HSA. All pre-tax deposit. My company matches up to $1000 per year. HSA carries over year-to-year. Never expires, and stays with me when I quit or retire.
