Henne could be benched? (1 Viewer)

opened up my mfl league to see that news listed atop recent news list. Michael Lombardi reports it. he doesn't say who'd start, mfl's view is that it would be pennington. I don't know to believe it at all or atleast while the fins are winning, especially since he doesn't seem to be playing horribly.

'if' it could be true i wouldn't be surprised if Thigpen got a look. they are so successful with the wildcat why not put thigpen in that role and actually have a threat to throw it?

I haven't seen a MIA game this year, but his numbers aren't terrible. Whats the deal here? 2-0.

I think Lombardi is just throwing you know what against the wall and hoping it sticks. He's also been saying that it's clear that the Bengals should be starting Scott over Benson, backed up by their YPC averages. I wouldn't put much stock in anything he says right now IMO.

:hifive: What he said

I don't think Henne has progressed when it comes to reading the defense/decision-making as much as the Dolphins had hoped, but I don't see them pulling him this early. If they do go away from Henne this year, I would expect Pennington to get the call before Thigpen, I think they still view Thigpen as a developmental QB.

Which shocks me because of all his experience at Michigan in a Pro style offense.

If this happens there is no question that Pennington will be the guy. This is a team with playoff aspirations no way a Parcells team goes with Thigpen.

I just hate when teams dont give QBs 2-3 years to develop. Only the best of the best seem to "get it" before that timeframe. Makes NO SENSE to jump ship right now on Henne.

It would be hilarious if Pennington ended up getting his job back AGAIN. That guy has had more comebacks than Aerosmith.

Lombardi has nothing to lose; someone already reported "Parcells was'nt happy with Henne over the summer" so that gives Lombardi just enough rope to create the 'follow-on' story, he probably put on his tickle file for week 3: If Henne doesn't blow up right out of the gates for the Fins, go with this conjecture and keep things interesting Would have been easier if they were not 2-0.

Ever notice how Lombardi is solid on TV without the non-sense, but puts a lot of garbage out here via his crappy website? I like him, but I've lost respect for his so-called internet opinions.

I think they must have too many requirements during the week. So these good reporters/analysts just run with ideas as fillers
