Interesting little scenario playing out in one of my leagues that I am no part of.

Owners tied....tie breaker is bench scoring then coin flip.

Owner A has 56 point on the bench

Owner B has 65 points on the bench

Owner A just dropped Marvin Harrison for Robert Ferguson and Thomas Jones for Adrian Peterson.

Owners B is saying bench is locked.

Nothing in the rules about benches. The rules only state that starters are locked and cannot be added or dropped after their games begin until after the Monday night game when the week rolls over.

I tend to think Owner A found a loophole and is doing a great job of exploiting it. Owner A would be doing this exact same thing if the shoe was on the other foot but is calling foul!

Any opinions on this?

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of FCFS and think that "if" you are going to use that system you should be locked out while games are being played in a given week- though I suppose that defeats the purpose of FCFS....

With that being said, based on your rules owner A is taking advantage of what is available to him. Good strategy, if I was owner B I'd think about doing the same. If Adrian Peterson is available, surely Kyle Orton must be laying around on the wire as well. Maybe even Gould or Longwell for that matter.

I think having your whole bench as a tiebreaker is a bad idea but I digress...I side with owner A. There's no rule against doing what he's doing so it's fair game. If owner B doesn't like it I suggest he try to get the rule changed next year

That's what you get for having a really lame tiebreaker.

That said, the other owner should drop all of his low-scoring bench players and pick up as many Bears and Vikings as possible. Then he should "waiver churn" all the other Bears and Vikings so the first guy can't add any more players to his team.

Then you should get rid of this stupid rule.

Also, do the teams get credit for bench players who have already played? (i.e. Thomas Jones) If so, then Owner B should just cut his entire team and replace them with Bears and Vikings.
