I've got an '07 Tacoma, great condition, low mileage. Take it in for emissions and it fails. The computer says a "knock sensor" died. I call a few places for quotes -- apparently the part itself is $250 and it requires 16+ hours of labor because they have to practically take the ####### engine apart to replace it, so like 2 grand total.
I love the truck but I work from home and maybe put 3,000 miles a year on it anymore, so the only logical thing to do is sell it and downgrade after taking the hit for this stupid ####### sensor. Really pissed. But, I'm thinking about maybe getting an old '70s Ford pickup that's been restored. I've seen some pretty badass ones around. The End
