Hightower in Doghouse? (1 Viewer)

IMO...Looks like Hightower is in hot water due to a fumble last week...and would NOT have played had the Cards coaching staff had other options (Beanie Wells was sick). Wells is back and healthy this week...I wouldn't put much faith in Hightower...expecially in the playoffs.

I would think the game he had would have brought him out of that doghouse.... ;)

One of the cards beat writers on twitter suggested that Tim will still start this week. I'm looking for the link now.

Here it is from Darren Urban

See no reason y it wldnt be Hightower RT @Cardinal_P: @Cardschatter whats the status with the RB? Timmy or Beanie gets the start this week? 10:28 PM Dec 15th via TweetDeck

Reading between the lines, the guy you are facing this week reads FBG message boards. :DHightower has a serious fumble problem but I can't imagine Wells being back in the saddle. He would probably get a lis franc fracture in the stirrup

Yes, In my opinion...Thus the "Topic" of conversation. If the coaching staff would have replaced Hightower because of his fumble last week but did not have another option at the time, will they give Wells more or split carries w/Hightower because the can this week (Wells healthy)? :D

was starting him with confidence....great matchup....anything to this or just crazy "look at me" speculation?

I think Hightower has earned the start and a good amount of carries, dont you? Just MY opinion....

I totally refute the OP's opinion. Beanie needs to go eat another fish sandwich and take some mydol for his time of the month cramping.

I, "OP", have read in these forums many fantasy owner's (including myself) counting on Hightower, straight-up or in replacement from bench for their questionable RB. Trying to get inside/any other info. If the topic isn't worth the read, David can delete it. :lmao:

The paragraph below was reported Tueday Dec 14th on FBG news for what it's worth.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he would not have put RB Tim Hightower back in the team's Week 14 game against the Denver Broncos after he fumbled if RB Beanie Wells (illness) had been healthy or RB LaRod Stephens-Howling hadn't been gassed, according to AZCardinals.com's Darren Urban. 'It was out of necessity,' Whisenhunt said. 'But he did what he had to do.'

So that means last week he was in the doghouse and he redeemed himself by "doing what he had to do." Now he may be on a shorter leash this week but I would still venture to guess he is servicable at rb2.

If hightower fumbles early we probably wont see much of him the rest of the day. Same goes for beanie tho lol

I interpreted "But he did what he had to do." Whisenhunt was referring to himself, not Hightower. Coach had to play Hightower because at that time he had no other options...this week he does.

No offense but I cant see Wisenhunt punishing Hightower for that fumble earlier in the game when he ripped it up for 150 and 2 td's or whatever he went for....

I'd actually agree with the OP- Hightower is a dangerous start this week. yeah, he could tear it up for 100+ yards and a TD but even when he had the job all to himself how many times was he able to do that. And when both Wells and Hightower have been active its been almost impossible to predict how the carries will go - the safest guess is an even split at about 10 each. I'd love to start him with confidence but I think Wells will get his carries if he's active and I'd rather not gamble that Wisenhunt won't keep feeding him if he gets off to a good start. Just my opinion but I think it's more reasonable than thinking Hightower will duplicate last week.

The fumbling problem is nothing new for Hightower. In week #1 despite a fantasy productive week of 13/54/1 with 4 receptions for 40 yards, he had 2 fumbles. Despite being in Whisenhunt's "doghouse", he came back in week #2 with 11/115/1 and 2/9. So it's almost better if he's in the doghouse. I'll take those doghouse stats anyday.

considering hightower almost single-handedly knocked me out of the playoffs with his late game outburst last week, i find this amusing.
