Do we have a go to in here on this subject? Does anyone have more than a dusty license and actually lives this day to day or week to week?
I am toying around at night with a buddy who has been hitting me up to join him at least part time. I am thinking about leaving teaching obviously but before any of that I Am just going to make contacts at night and see what happens.
FYI...we are only going after high value homes in Florida, 1M value and up. Amazingly even the wealthy seem too want to save a few on their homeowners and umbrella type coverage. The other thing interesting is the higher value folks typically have a few properties so once you get one done then all the sudden you are writing a lot of policies with one client. Some of these folks spend between 25k to 50k easy depending on the home. Many don't even carry mortgages, imagine a 5m property debt free.
Anyone want to speak from experience? 440/220 licenses? It's really just a hobby right now but things are moving quicker than I anticipated. It's shocking and sad how few of these insurance agents in my friends office don't want to work and also how little they know about sales, they might know a lot about insurance but no idea how to put a pipeline together. My mortgage experience is coming in very handy.
If you work in a similar field and want to share, go for it.
