Hot Rumor - Ahman Green to VISIT Broncos tomorrow (1 Viewer)

If Ahman Green goes to Denver, I wouldn't sell Mike Bell just yet...

30 year old RB ahead of him puts the opportunity back on the table I'd say.

So says the dynasty Mike Bell owner.Look, gentlemen. Ahman Green is a very viable back in today's NFL. My sources out of Green Bay tell me that the rift between Green and the coaching staff has been really what has kept him from being spectacular as of late. I'll keep my ears on it.
Tiresome.....

Dude, give it a rest already...

:goodposting: no ####...give it up dude
I think it's great. Do what you want. I appreciate the inside info.
 Not many forums have a GM willing to post inside info on them.
That's what I'm thinking. We're so lucky to have the info he drops on us. But seriously, what is he posting that is bothering you guys so much? It's not like half the garbage some of you guys post is any more informative than his. At least some of us get a slight chuckle out of what he says instead of getting aggrevated at the stupidity of what some people post.

NFL Network's Adam Shefter reports that Ahman Green is spending Friday visiting the Broncos.

Houston, Oakland, and Green Bay are also interested. Denver could seriously rehabilitate Green's fantasy value.

Excuse me, sir. However, I used to work as a scout for the NFL scouting combine for over 15 years and throughout my time developed relationships throughout the NFL. I am now an avid fan of fantasy football in my retired years and choose to share my insider knowledge with this board. You are very rude.
Oh you're going to fit right in...Welcome

Here is to hoping A.J. Smith will start tracking his breaking inside information in his sig. so we can see if he has any reliability. :goodposting:

Ahman Green is still an elite caliber Rb with a couple more productive seasons in him. He could put up very very good numbers in Denver.

I find that a lot more interesting than the digs at a new poster (or alias) the majority seems interested in talking about instead.

Green definitely surprised me last year. I was waiting for him to break down all year, and he didn't. I agree he probably has a couple more decent years left, I'd like to see them go for someone with less of an injury history though.

What more needs to be said? do we really need 10 more posts on how good a fit Green would be in Denver, 10 posts on how much Denver needs Green, toss in a refrence to Barlow for good measure, someone will mention Dayne, the "it's all a ploy to motivate..." schtick, dynasty guys pimping players they are holding, it's very predictable.

What are your thoughts on Willie Green?

Is that an allusion to a George Jefferson Alias?

if it was me...why wouldnt i sign ahman green instead of giving up a #3 for TJ or Willis.

makes lots of sense.

I scouted him at Boston College on a handful of occassions and felt he was overrated coming out of college. Though, it wasn't my job to rate the college talent entering the NFL draft...I simply had to identify the best of that year. Needless to say, with the exception of Clinton Portis, that year's RB draft class was vey weak. William Green is done in the NFL. I had breakfast with Romeo Crenell last year and he told me that William Green had no future on his team but contract terms were the only thing making him stick around. He's done.
How long until Jerome Harrison is the starter in Cleveland? :lmao: :bag:

I would think that both TJ and Willis have a lot less miles on them than Ahman and would likely last a little longer than the year, maybe 2 you can get out of Ahman Green....

Well I do think there are 2 camps of opinion about Ahman Green.1 camp thinks he is injury prone and not the same RB that he used to be.The 2nd camp believes he has fully recovered and is still one of the better RBs in the league.I happen to be in the 2nd camp and based on your post perhaps you are also but I know there are many around here who are in the 1st camp. So that could be debated. As far as the kind of fit Green would be in the Denver offense I think he would be more successful than Jamal Lewis would be for the Bronco's as well as any of the other FA RBs avialable to them. Green is a versitile player and comes from the WCO as well as being successful in the ZBS installed in Green Bay last year. Hard to come up with a more ideal fit than this. He was also very good at running the power sweep when Green Bay had the guards to run it. I have not seen the Bronco's run this play very often however.I do agree the other Denver RB stuff that seems to always come up is tired and old.If that is all that needs to be discussed about the prospects of Green in Denver then by all means carry on with the witch hunt.

Crazy thought, but maybe Ahman is signed as a "caretaker" for the position for a year or two... there's an awfully rich RB draft coming in '08...If Ahman was signed as a short-term answer, I think he'd be a better fit than the other options.

Shanny never seems to want more than a year or two. Why commit to TJ or Willie for longer? So, Shanny first gets Javon, then Ahman...could Favre be far behind? :loco:

It's very likely that this will be Ahman's last contract. He will go to whatever team is going to give him the most guaranteed money. I just don't see Denver having the money to do that right now.

Denver would keep thier draft picks in signing Green as well while Jones or McGahee would cost somthing more..Denver does seem to be positioning themselves for the post season as they should be. I think they are definitly close to reaching the SB. I think Green is good enough to be one piece of getting them there.

That's a good point. They may not want to deal with TJ after signing a guy in the first round of 08 and have another TJ/Benson situation. I think no matter what though that Ahman wants a two year deal. Is Denver willing to offer him that?

You might be right. However Green was very reasonable about returning to Green Bay last season just because he wanted to keep playing there. He also has made similar comments about wanting to stay in Green Bay in 07 as well. So this makes one wonder why the Slack have not gotten a deal done with him?Either he is asking more money than they are willing to play or they don't see Green as being the answer for them? The 2nd possibility seems odd to me considering how well he did last year.

I thought GB was offering him a 1 year deal and he wants a 2nd year which would afford the team a larger bonus as it is prorated over 2 years. He wants as much guaranteed money as possible and a 2 year deal is necessary for that...

Doesn't that describe every Denver RB?

I see. Thanks for the info.

For the money, Brown may be the best fit in Denver. He goes back home where he was a star in Boulder.
