What guys that haven't done it before do you think will continue to produce at a high level? Guys like LaFell, M. Bennett, RGIII, Demaryius Thomas, etc etc...

I am not sold on Amendola or Andre Roberts. I think the guys I mentioned are for real this year though.

Who do you think will and won't contiue at their current pace?

I believe in these three to be legit. Not sold on the others.

I do like all the guys in your first sentence. Matt Ryan is clearly "for real" - given the fact that he was a borderline top 10 QB in previous seasons, now has no real running game and seems very comfortable - and effective in Atlanta's no huddle offense.I also like Donny Avery - Luck seems to be "hitting the open man" - and with Wayne drawing a lot of attention, it seems to be Avery quite a bit. I would trust Amendola in PPR leagues - he's simply a target hog. He is second only to Victor Cruz in targets through two weeks.

I am starting to think the Black Unicorn really does exist. I do not have rewind but I am curious how much he is lining up in the slot if any?

Amendola is for real. He was expected to blow up last year but got injured. Bradford's favorite target in a West Coast offense. He is probably WR3 in regular leagues and WR2/WR1 in PPR leagues. He'll be Welker lite on a worse offense.

Not sure Pitta is for real. Been getting ridiculous targets.

A guy not mentioned here is Reggie Bush. Personally, I think he is an interesting case. last year, he showed us he can make it through a season as a main back, and he is bigger than when he joined the league...he literally had "speed to burn" when he joined the NFL, so even if he has lost a step, he is likely in the top 3-4 of speed when considering lead backs. I like what I have seen, and think that Miami NEEDS him to run it to ease up on Tanny...real question is whether he can handle it.

I like several of the guys mentioned but M. Bennett is clearly the guy too many people are sleeping on at this point. The Giant D and run game are terrible so they will be throwing, there is not a viable WR3 on the team and now Hixon is injured. Bennett in spite of several drops, including sure TDs has put up very good numbers. If he starts catching close to everything he could put up huge numbers. The Giants have a history of making fantasy relevant TEs, even TEs with questionable talent. M. Bennett's ceiling is top 5 TE range and he can still be gotten cheaply in many leagues.

I don't like Amendola or Bush as much simply because I don't see how they will keep going at their current pace. I still think they will do well but in ppr both are top 10 overall right now. I think Amendola is more like top 25 WR in ppr and Bush around 15 for RB's.

I think LaFell might start to produce even better numbers more to due to situation that anything. I like the Avery call if he doesn't shatter in to pieces.

To add, I think LaFell is the real deal...for a couple of reasons. First, he has shown that he can play. He is big, gets open and has good hands. There are a bunch of guys that fit this mold, but when you understand the history of the franchise, it means that much more. There are franchises that ignore a spot on the roster for a decade (i.e. STL at RB behind Jackson and Indy with the QB) and others that have tried but failed. Carolina falls into the second category. Since Mush Muhammed left for Chicago (seems ages ago) Carolina has been seeking a complementary WR to go with Smith. That list has included Keyshawn, Mush (the redeux), Jarrett, Naane, Gettis, Edwards and others. An effort has been made, but has fallen short mightily. Carolina has flat-out lucked out that they have had Smith perform so long at the level he has. They not only want LaFell to succeed, they need him to; they are working on borrowed time and they know it.

I agree 100% with LaFell. Got him in 2/5 leagues and regretting not getting him in more leagues but I felt like it would be smart to diversify my lottery tickets. It worked well with AlfMo though...

I went RB/RB/RB this year with the #1 overall pick. When the 4/5 turn came around, I simply could not pass up Bush and as such after 5 rounds, had 4 RB's and 1 WR.But my reason for that was that Bush's career arc reminds me of Tiki Barber. Barber came into the NFL as a multi-dimensional yet under-sized player who struggled with maddening bouts of inconsistency. But as he grew into his body, developed an NFL work ethic and capitalized on his opportunity...he became one of the best RB's in the NFL and if you look at his last 5 seasons, you'll be hard pressed to find an RB who was ever more productive (a 2055 YFS & 9 TD average). Now Bush had to go elsewhere, but his opportunity and his capitalizing on it has been no less impressive thus far. Staying away from the injury bug will probably be the area of his game where he still has the most to prove. It's an area that Barber didn't really struggle with to the degree Bush has. But ultimately, Bush IMO has found his NFL groove. I'm very bullish on him.

I don't like Amendola or Bush as much simply because I don't see how they will keep going at their current pace.
Bush obviously isn't going to put up 30pts/week, but over his last 11 games with the Dolphins he's averaged 21 touches and 20pts/game (PPR). No reason it can't continue if he stays healthy.

:goodposting: Bush and Amendola are Valuable SITUATIONAL plays. they are worth rostering, especially in ppr leagues. in fact Amendola may still be available on a few waivers, but act FAST. Play Bush/Amendola when the defense they play straight out SUCKS. bench them when they play teams that are raked high in rush defense(for bush) or pass defense(Amendola). Stafford has shown flashes of greatness before, but he still has a long way to go before I would ever suggest starting Amendola every week. Same thing with the Dolphins andwho they play.

CJ Spiller is for real, he is running with patience and he is explosive. The Bills offensive line is terrible at pass protection but underrated in run blocking. Get him if you can talk his owner into believing it will be a time share when FJax returns, I've tried and failed in my main league to get him.

LaFell is for real. I had Cam last year and watched just about every Panthers game. While I didn't get Cam this year, I thought LaFell would have a good year and drafted him as my WR3 in my two leagues and feel very comfortable with that.

I think Pitta is for real if only because of his targets. One thing we've all learned is targets on teams with good offenses and other good receivers always equals production. Amendola isn't on a good offense but has a knack for getting open just like Welker in his early career. I'd love to have him in PPR.

No mention of Celek? Blasphemy!
Dingdingdingding!
So pissed I lost out on a bidding war for him today. Got too pricey, but I think he's gold the rest of the year
Something insane happened in one of my 12-teamers last night..I'm last on WW priority, I needed a TE pretty badly. I put in a bid for Celek but never dreamed I could acquire him. For some reason Bennett (justifiable), H.Miller and Scott Chandler were taken before him and he fell to me. I'm still in awe and am not sure wth happened.

People always say don't over-react and are quick to say "it's only been 1 week guy lolz" but I remember someone posting some statistical evidence that players that are doing well after 3 weeks usually continue that trend throughout the season. For me the poster child for this type of discussion will always be Kurt Warner.

For me I didn't think there is any doubt Celek is for real. He has always produced except when hurt or that stretch when he was asked to stay in and block all the time. He's had good seasons in the past so I personally didn't think he fit in this discussion.
He's always had the skill but with Vick he has the opportunity. Dating back to the end of last year, he has emerged as Vick's favorite passing target. Maclin being banged up the first two weeks had only added to his value.
