No, you're correct, #3 is the least likely.I'm not seeing this anywhere. Here are the possibilities:1) The OP misheard something on the radio.2) The OP heard it correctly, but the radio host is mistaken or spreading rumor as fact.3) Some guy on Sirius radio broke the story before anyone else in the world, and the game actually is cancelled.I could be wrong, but I think #3 is the least likely.
I was just about to post the same thing. The teams have different bye weeks(8,10). If they canceled it, they'd have to reschedule multiple games.
Dont start any Texans or Ravens, is my plan unless I see the game is going to be played elsewhereHow do we handle this in regards to FF?They did not name a date, just a date later in the year I think.
I posted earlier that there was speculation the game could be moved to Atlanta on Sunday.Ravens board reporting the same Sirius NFL story. I think the person above is right -- game is now cancelled for Houston, but is in the process of being rescheduled somewhere else for Sunday or Monday
This is the correct answer. They did this when they moved a game to Arizona a few years back. This is extremely unlikely. Too many ripples. They will play the game somewhere on Sunday or Monday.
I certainly hope the NFL learned from that mistake. That game was total BS.Another Raven home game a la Giants v. Saints during Katrina?
Right - during the San Diego fires. And they were going to do it again was it last year? When the fires hit again.Good point - despite being covered in ash at one point during it, I totally forgot about that. This is the correct answer. Ike's going through San Antonio too.San Antonio has a dome and hosted some Saints games after Katrina. That would make more sense to me than Atlanta if the facility is available.
I doubt that they'll reschedule the game for Monday in Houston. Ike has way too much potential for damage. They'll play the game somewhere else. It's most likely postponed until Monday night.
SA will get some weather, but it's far enough inland that it won't be anything like what Houston sees. Winds should diminish a lot as it moves inland. There isn't any threat of storm surge. It's a domed stadium. San Antonio won't have to evacuate anyone. Now, all the hotels and such may be used up by people evacuating to SA. I would think the Texans would lobby for something closer to home so they wouldn't have to give up the home field advantage entirely. I'm not sure how much say they have in the process, though.Ike's going through San Antonio too.San Antonio has a dome and hosted some Saints games after Katrina. SA is not an option they will consider. Austin is pretty far inland as well and they just rescheduled the Texas vs Arkansas game to Sept. 27th.SA will get some weather, but it's far enough inland that it won't be anything like what Houston sees. That seems a lot harder to do than moving the game but as a Willis Mcgahee owner that would be sweet to get an extra week of recovery.Actually it would not be that hard to reschedule this to another week. HOU has a bye on week 8 as does CIN. BAL has a bye on week 10 and CIN is at HOU on week 10. They could just give HOU and BAL their bye on week 2, schedule CIN @ HOU on week 8, and schedule BAL @ HOU and give CIN a bye on week 10.
Works for me. Call the NFL!Actually it would not be that hard to reschedule this to another week. HOU has a bye on week 8 as does CIN. BAL has a bye on week 10 and CIN is at HOU on week 10. This makes a lot more sense [and seems a lot more fair] than playing at some neutral site this week IMOActually it would not be that hard to reschedule this to another week. I'd rather have a bye in Week 2 than lose a home game...I doubt that any team wants a bye in week 2.
