Yea I figured they would show the fight, seemed like the crescendo to Daemon's opus.Great episode. Wish they showed Daemon slicing up the Crab guy

HIs entire story had me being "that guy" who criticizes the logic of the dragon show. I kept thinking "if they've been holing up in the caves to avoid the dragons the whole time, then hasn't Daemon effectively ended their blockade of the shipping lanes anyway?" And, of course, Daemon's plan is kind of ludicrous, relying on the Crab Feeder to send his entire army out into the open to kill Daemon instead of letting Daemon rush into the caves to be surrounded where he'd have no support.Yea I figured they would show the fight, seemed like the crescendo to Daemon's opus.Great episode. they built up crab man for nothing
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, you could see the McGuffin coming a mile away. Crabby Patty was purely there to separate Daemon and Corlys from the king and his allies.Yea I figured they would show the fight, seemed like the crescendo to Daemon's opus.Great episode. it was odd. i had to rewind to make sure i didint miss something. not sure why they thought that was a good idea

This episode was the first time that he came off remotely like a bowl to me.The climactic battle scene was very good but Viserys is getting a little too whiny for me. I am hoping that they speed up his impending demise.
I get what you are saying. The only thing the crabbers had when holed up in the cave was shooting at the ships. If they could only hide, couldn’t the dragon take out those launchers? It’s not worth worrying about because it really didn’t matter. It was the end alliance that was important and was going to happen if it was the crab man or a guy who rode hippos that ate ship hulls.HIs entire story had me being "that guy" who criticizes the logic of the dragon show. But I think part of what felt so cursory about the story was the structure of the episode. They do a little exposition about the situation in the beginning of the episode and then do 2/3 of an episode about the princess sulking (when most of the plot would never happen if we assume Viserys ever actually spoke to her), and then about 10-15 minutes to essentially give us that entire arc.
But despite all that, I didn't hate the episode. There isn't much point in being "that guy" for a fantasy show. The action was at least fun. The actors are doing fine. There has been a refreshing lack of "sexposition" after the premiere.
Lol. I thought that was an insult but I agree. It’s pretty obvious that he’s going to die having never changed the heir to his son and so you’ll have 3 factions, Daemon/Corlys, Rhaenyra and Hightower et al with baby. We got the white stag so we know Rhaenyra is special, but how it shakes out is basically the theme for this season. This episode was the first time that he came off remotely like a bowl to me.The climactic battle scene was very good but Viserys is getting a little too whiny for me. ETA(voice to text) - Obviously I meant likable but I’m gonna leave that alone up there.
And the calf.Catching two arrows to the torso and then being able to kill someone in battle is a bit weak, imo.

Draft Kings has a little “pool” (really just a small group of questions) for tonight’s episode….
Will we see any crabs?
Will there be a wedding?
Will there be a battle scene?
Will we see the dragon Vhagar?
Will Daemon mount Caraxes?
Will Rhaenyra mount Syrax?
Will any of the main characters die in tonight’s episode?
Will Daemon and Viserys meet face to face?
Had no idea crabs were meat eaters.
That's my understanding. He controls like 1/2 the ships in Westeros. Which is why the strategic move was for the king to marry his daughter.I don't think it was stated definitively in the episode or maybe I'm reading too deep into it. Corlys Velaryon is the Sea Snake, right? Or is the Sea Snake his brother (Vaemon?) or someone else in the Velaryon house?
New Daario needs to tighten up a bit, almost getting the Princess killed like that.
I got the impression that 1) it wasn't all that unusual of a thing for her to do, and 2) it was pretty clear that everyone thought that she could take care of herselfThe princess (and presently the heir to the iron throne,) takes off and runs away, chased only by one knight and nobody hears from them by morning and they all go out for the hunt instead of sending the entire camp to look for her?

Don't get used to the actors just yet...four are being recast as the time line jumps 10 years in upcoming episodes...
Here are the 4 being recast, and when, if you wanna know:

Daemon doesn’t need a claim to take the throne if he’s got the strongest backing.Lol. I thought that was an insult but I agree. Daemon may still have a claim of sorts just because of the time-honored rule of might makes right, but his claim is severely damaged by the King having a son. He had a decent shout against Rhaenyra just because she's a daughter (same as Viserys v his older sister), but as King's brother he's got pretty much nothing against a first born son. Rhaenyra is still in the game because of being first born and having been declared heir by the King.
I think it was the son of the other Targaryen - the one mentioned that was mentioned that Rhaneyreas should marry. The brother of the girl Valeryon offered upWho was riding the dragon in that lasts battle? I didn't see who it was and I thought only Targs were dragon riders.
It was Corlys' son Laenor (right, experts more knowledgeable than me?). Hopefully, the show does a good job of explaining why the bolded isn't necessarily what you think it is.Who was riding the dragon in that lasts battle? I didn't see who it was and I thought only Targs were dragon riders.

Hes a king that loves his daughter and married for love instead of building his legacy. I kind of like the shift in the usual cookie cutter kings most of these shows have. The climactic battle scene was very good but Viserys is getting a little too whiny for me. I dunno. I think we all assumed Daemon was setting up as the bad but it doesn't seem like it's going in that direction. He has no right to the thrown anyway.Lol. Robert had no right to the throw either. Sometimes the winner makes their own claim and he’s part of the royal family so if he did “win” he’d be the guy.I dunno. I haven’t read the books so I have zero clue how this plays out so it should be fun. Seems like the little boy is the only one that doesn’t appear to have a role to play. I feel like the King and his son will both be gone soon.
The uncle and niece scene made my skin crawl. She just looks so young, it actually bothered me, even the next part as well. Wasn’t my favorite episode so far, although the hand getting pushed out wasn’t bad. We still don’t really have a good idea what Daemon even wants but it was interesting to see his queen was basically working for Hightower all along.
Did you miss the part where she was waking Daemon up from his hangover? During that scene, the boy who told Hightower about the princess and Daemon came down the stairs and handed Daemon’s queen some money. I took that as her being Hightower’s pawn, maybe since the beginning of her relationship with Daemon. Very Littlefinger of him TBH and based on her reaction to not wanting kids and not wanting to ever be in harm’s way, it makes more sense that she’s been playing Daemon for a while. The uncle and niece scene made my skin crawl. Yes, go back and watch to confirm but after he spilled the hangover cure, she was walking out and the kid came down and gave her money. I don’t see any other meaning because it was just after Hightower gave the kid money for his info. I assume that it is supposed to 100% tie her to being paid by Hightower. I took some liberties because of her saying she wants no part in kids as a confirmation that she’s been in the relationship due to Hightower. Opposite of say Rob Stark’s lady who got knocked up right away although she was not a whore. Anyway, I would recommend that you rewatch the end of that scene.I didn't notice the kid there.
