Yeah. I remember this and other things. I'll still watch the show because it is an interesting enough universe with good actors. But this story telling sucks. Not sure there is a reason to avoid more spoilers.
I just hope they don’t screw up God’s Eye. I don’t care if they need to spend half their budget on that one episode. They mess that up and the entire series will be seen as trash.
Team Black
Syrax(gold) - Rhaenyra
Vermax(green) - Jacaerys
Moondancer(pale green) - Baela
Caraxes(red) - Daemon
Seasmoke(gray) - Addam
Vermithor(bronze) - Hugh
Silverwing(silver) - Ulf
Arrax(white) - Lucerys (killed Season 1)
Maelys(scarlet) - Rhaenys (killed Season 2)
Team Green
Vhagar(black) - Aemond
Sunfyre(gold and pink) (Injured) - Aegon II (Injured)
Tessarion(blue) - Daeron (not shown on TV yet)
Dreamfyre(pale blue and silver) - Helaena
Unclaimed
Sheepstealer(mud brown) - Rhaena appears to be going after it in Season 2 Episode 7
Grey Ghost(pale gray and white) - unseen on TV and never rode by anyone in the books
Cannibal(coal black) - unseen on TV and never rode by anyone in the books
Was about to update Sunfyre as dead because that's what Aegon said in the final episode. But, apparently that's too big of a deviation from the books that most people think Aegon just thinks that and the dragon will show up later on in the story.
Darn. I'm way behind you guys, having just finished S2E4 this past weekend. I've been loving this season so far, but it sounds like maybe I shouldn't get too excited to see how this season ends.
I'm almost half though it as well but I haven't loved the season. Now even more hesitant to invest the time after seeing all these horrific reviews on my feeds. Probably the type of show I'll hold off watching until a long travel day.

Yeah, I think we all wish it could be at least half the show GOT was. I couldn't imagine waiting months much less a few days to catch up on the latest GOT episode, yet I have no urge to stay current with this one.

My guess is that they had to cut this season short in order to afford the dragon scenes for that battle next season. A battle they've already spoiled. Which is a stupid way of thinking about things, but seems consistent with how HBO has treated this series.
Like, seriously, how much should these dragons really cost to render in 2024? They are basically copying and pasting Drogon onto Seasmoke. It seems like a giant scam.
I know this set all the pieces up for the war (and I believe the final season) but you can't have that big a snoozer and then nothing for 2 years. Woof
Seriously? They thought a mud wrestling match between the worst Lannister character we’ve ever seen and a lesbian pirate captain would remind us of Tyrion?
I hope some of the upcoming shows get the bad taste out of my mouth. This one seems more like a money grab, keep the budget way down show now.
Who would have thought with all the new dragons and son killing that we’ve still had way more childbirth scenes than battles.

On the Ringer's Talk the Thrones podcast they claim that you can briefly see one of the Green Men or whatever right before Daemon gets to the tree. The podcasters seemed to like that and then talked about God's Eye.
I was actually hoping to see him... They spent enough time showing Alicent wondering about where he was, makes sense they'd at least tease something. Kinda like the Starks, who I assume will get teased for most of next season before another split second cameo.

But his fate was left intentionally ambiguous in the books. It is after all, a Maesters recounting of what others had written down and even then they weren't sure of his fate.

Interesting point, but there's no future in the story for this character, so if they decide to invent one and give him a role in the next chapter, that's a problem for me. I tend to agree with @fruity pebbles suggestion the writers are flirting with a Lifetime movie re-write that would be unfortunate. It feels at times like they are trying to create an outright good guys v bad guys story which completely changes the nature of the saga and Martin's world. The past and ongoing relationship they invented between the two main women characters has a negative effect on the power of the story for me, and it could get worse if they continue down that path, especially if it changes the ultimate fate of either. I've thought the writers have done a good job in other respects. The changes and fleshing out of King V.T. in season one was great. The added depth to Helaena has been a positive.

I actually found it to be a very good episode (acting + scenery + character development + I wasn't bored) but a weak finale (no significant plot movement nor climactic scenes).

i read on reddit that the director has sort of gone off on her own to center the show around alicent and raineera and i get it the director gets to make those calls but man it sure seems like a lot of common sense went out the window to make that happen i dont think moms would be like well we are friends so lets just let our kids die its all good for my bff thats just crazy talk take that to the bank brohans
RE: Spoilers.....the likely most important event in the entire show was already spoiled on GOT's. (via a random conversation between 2 characters). I'm sure a huge % of the viewership doesn't remember and probably didnt even register it at the time (we didnt know HOTD was gonna be a thing)

And she just stumbles across the dragon eating a goat or whatever? Wouldn't she have seen the dragon flying around if it is that close, or does this dragon walk and stalk their prey by sneaking up behind them?

What do you not like about, if you don't mind me asking? I'm liking it a lot, but it does have a much smaller scope than GOT, and it seems to spend a lot more time on court politics. I enjoy that stuff personally, but I can see why others might not.

It's not that I don't like it. Though I do think they wasted a lot of time this season (Daemon at Harrenhall) and the connection to the characters or their arcs are just not there. But that has a lot to do with the source material being a history book without any real details.
I will eventually watch, but the enthusiasm just isn't there. I didn't post as a "that'll show em" angle, just a self-commentary I guess that this show isn't grabbing me.
I really am looking forward to Dunc and Egg though!
(and wish GRRM had already finished the books -- I loved reading those and now feel kinda blah about Winds even when it eventually get published).
It was a good episode, but you have to admit that the season just sort of . . . ended. I'm glad they didn't give us an artificial cliff-hanger a la TWD, but it felt like there were a couple of episodes missing from the season.

Great might be generous but it wasn't any less of an episode than we've seen all season long. I think the disappoint rises from 2 shows being cut from the original 10 show season which would have gotten us to the event(s) that are leaving everyone disappointed we didn't get to.
One thing for sure, next season is gonna be lit. Whenever it happens...
