Houshmandzadeh Injury Watch (1 Viewer)

Trying to decide if I want to start Henry over Clayton in a PPR league... I'm leaning toward Clayton since most of Henry's points came off the 2 catches at the end of the game last week and Clayton "expected" to be a bigger part of the offense this week... who knows though. Might change my mind before Sunday. My other 2 starters are Horn and Jurevicius.

i dropped battle for henry but he's on my bench this week behindr mossj jureviciusk curtisit was a tough call between henry and curtis, but i like the MNF action and hoping that bulger will need to air it out

I am thinking about starting (with Holt and Kennison) Henry over Bennett... I have Lelie on my bench too - but he is staying there.

Quoting what I hear on radio right now with TJ:Has not practiced all week, including today, but he feels good.Says Coach Lewis doesn't let them play if they don't practice during week. He "hopes" he can play Sunday.Ligaments are strained, nothing broken. My view:Of course he is being vague because doesn't want to get in doghouse with Coach Lewis, but it definitely doesn't sound like he is going to play this week.If you have something else besides TJ use it, he will definitely be a game time decision IMO.

Bengals | Henry Likely to See More ActionFri, 14 Oct 2005 12:45:23 -0700Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry should see additional snaps during Week 6 due to WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hand) being unlikely to play. This is the latest I've heard. KFFL

I'm thinking about adding Henry, but our league only allows us 4 WRs and 10 total moves for the year...yeah pretty ridiculous considering injuries, etc. Anyways, I was thinking about picking up Henry, but don't know who to get rid of. Here are my current WRs, I'm thinkin of dropping Mason... :yucky: D. BranchR. SmithR. FergusonD. MasonOh yeah, besides my WRs sucking...I also just lost Deuce.

I can beat that, I lost Deuce and my wrs are Branch, Bennett, Lelie, Stokley, CHenry, and that's it. Yeah, that's it.

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (hand) has been downgraded to doubtful for Week 6.I just saw this....don't know if anybody else did....

Bye bye Lelie...hello Henry!!

Heres a little more info on Henry.According to Pro Football Weekly, rookie receiver Chris Henry may be listed behind Kelley Washington on the depth chart, but he's moved ahead of Washington on the field. Henry was active in Weeks 2-4, and Washington was inactive. In that stretch, Henry caught 10 passes, including a 36-yard TD at Chicago. Both receivers played in Week 5, with Henry catching another TD.The 6-4, 200-pound Henry seems to have earned the trust of Carson Palmer, who isn't afraid to throw him the ball. PFW went on to suggest there's a feeling that Washington hasn't developed as the team would have liked in his three seasons.Henry, meanwhile, has outworked Washington, according to a source close to the club. Henry continues to improve, and his height and ability to get deep make him yet another weapon for offensive coordinator Bob Bratkowski.Another factor working in Henry's favor: He's taken to the instruction of position coach Hue Jackson. And with T.J. Houshmandzadeh still bothered by a sore hand, Henry will continue to play a more prominent role in the offense for at least another week. Nothing but positives so far about Chris, I think he'll keep improving.

Might be benching Holt for Henry. :(
Got room on your roster for Kevin Curtis? If so, pick KC up, plug Henry in (depending on who your other WRs are) and leave Holt in. If Holt is a GTD, be ready to swap Curtis for Holt on Monday night.

Hmm, I don't know if I should take a risk and start Henry over Coles in a PPR league.
Debating the same thing myself. PPR dynasty league. Think I might give Henry a chance.

Id say this is the week he finally gets the start opposite CJ. Last week he was listed #3, but clearly looked like the #2 option there w/o Housh. This week, Id say CJ and Henry both score, and maybe Henry gets more yards bc of more long plays and less coverage.Either way, I think after this week Henry is a must start with Housh out, and pending to see how things look when he gets back, and least a matchup starter

Starting Henry w/ T. Glenn, J Witten, and C. Alexander (TE's get 1 point per reception in my league). My WR corps actually looks decent for a change.

With JJ & Foster out this week I think I will play it safe w/Coles. I am trying to go 6-0. :excited:

Yeah, I'm going to have to go ahead and agree with you there. Yeah.If you could just go ahead and keep agreeing with me, that's be greeeet. Thanks.

*END OF HIJACK*

Was hoping for more news too but I'm almost out of time so I made the move:dropped Engram, picked up Henry and put in him in my lineup (flex spot) over T.Taylor. The team I'm playing has Palmer and C.Johnson so it should be interesting... :boxing:

(Rotoworld) T.J. Houshmandzadeh, questionable with a hand injury, returned to practice in limited fashion for the first time in two weeks Wednesday.Impact: His hand is improving. Coach Marvin Lewis said Houshmandzadeh is "testifying," to play, whatever that means.

Any Thursday news?
Apparently TJ caught some soft passes today. Here's the update from bengals.com:http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=4742

Notes: T.J tries it; Williams doubtful

Updated: 10-20-05, 5:15 p.m. Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh dressed for the first time Thursday since injuring his hand in the Oct. 2 win over Houston and caught some balls softly thrown his way in warmups and proceeded to practice in 11-on-11.Head coach Marvin Lewis said he did "OK.," but he is listed as questionable. .

Bump for any Friday updates...
no doubt...I'm forced to either start Gonzo or Housh this week....now with the Friday night game, I have to make the decision today.

Thats a tough call...with weather, injury and opposing defenses...not sure either one will do well...

Maybe he plays cause it is a division game
FWIW, through the first 6 weeks, the Overall Questionable Play Pct is 30%, while the Divisional Game Questionable Play Pct is 38%. So there may be something to that, but the difference is not overwhelming. In fact, the Overall and Divisional Game Probable Play Pcts. are almost the same.

these posts by you are so weird yet so interesting yet so weird. IIRC you're saving them for an article next summer but may I ask a general question? What coaches "lie" or mislead the most? If ya knock out a few does it make anything more predictable.(Others, please no shanny or BB posts, just a Q to construxboy doing a study)

I don't have all the team breakdowns done yet, but NE and TEN seem to be the most misleading. TEN has long been known to list a bunch of guys as Questionable who almost always end up playing and that's held true this year as well. NE was mad about ATL's listing of Vick two weeks ago so they put everyone and their mother on the injury list. Stuff like that makes this tough. I'd point out that Mike Herman (I think) is doing a great Coach Speak feature on the main board each week looking at what coaches say and then what they actually do on Sunday. It's a great feature if you're a subscriber.
