How 'bout them Reds! (1 Viewer)

and the hits keep coming....up 2 - 0 at the end of one.would be nice to see Oswalt crack up and get chased early.

Actually, the Cards are still in first place by .001. :D

Besides, I wouldn't get too excited. Neither the Cards nor the Reds are worth a crap, so winning the NL Central this year would be like winning ugliest girl at the Miss America pageant.

If you haven't been to the playoffs since '95, it just doesn't matter. GO REDS!! :headbang:

When you haven't been laid in 10 years, you're going to jump all over that ugly girl.

I'm guessing that this man speaks frome experience.

Is it better to take the WC and get the Dodgers, or win the division and get the Mets?

Not that it's a matter of choice, of course, but given those options?

:lmao: WRONG

I'm actually going to the game in Chi. on the 16th. Won't be able to get there on time for the game on the 15th. Thanks anyway.

Just got back from checking out the Chattanooga Lookouts and Homer Bailey. Bailey pitched 6, 2 hits, 0 runs, 8 k's, 0 walks and left with a 5-0 lead. He was consistently in the 93-94 range and hit 97 in the top of the 6th. He looked real good. Change up and curve in the high 70's low 80's, maybe a slider in the 85-88 range.

I left after 6 and just turned on the game back at the hotel. Lookouts scored 3 in the bottom of the 7th and gave up 7 in the top of the 8th. The pitcher of record when the 8th run was scored will get the win if the Lookouts hold on, right?

ETA: They held on to win and said that Bailey got the win.

Bring him up!

HOW YOU LIKE FRANKLIN!? priceless, first pitch out of the park. Could only hide him in the pen for so long. REDS are FINISHED, season over. Book It.

Go Cards!
:goodposting: I said it a while back and I'll say it again, the Cards are going to win the division. Now, winning in the playoffs is a different story.
The Cardinals are horrid. Still good enough to win the Central, but horrid nonetheless. It's only going to get worse as management refuses to shell out money for new talent and starts lining its pockets with revenue from the new stadium. Which wouldn't be horrible if the minor league system weren't devoid of talent. A starting rotation of Carpeneter, Reyes, Wainwright, Jason Johnson, and Ted Lilly should be fun next season.

The sky is not falling, people.

16 of the Reds' last 22 games are against Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Florida.

Replace Ted Lilly with Jose Lima and you're pretty much correct. In all honesty, expect the Cards to sign another "project" like Sidney Pondscum and have him claimed off waivers by the desperate Yankees around mid-season.

And you're right about the Cards ownership. Cards fans are starting to really get pissed at Bill DeWitt and Co. And this is the Cardinals fans we're talking here, among the more passive fans in baseball.

I wanted to post this a few weeks ago, but now that it looks likely.....

:lmao: :lmao: at the Reds not even making the playoffs.

i have thought since the All-Star break that as long as they kept within 6 games of the Cards going into Septemeber it that it wouldn't be hopeless.i can't see either team winning the World Series regardless of who makes the playoffs, but that is as someone once said, "why they play the games."

Even as bad as the Cards pitching is, as long as they still have Carpenter, Pujols & Rolen, they will continue to win games and it will be tough for Cincy to make a run unless they just catch fire in September....but it appears they are going the wrong way right now (like the RedSox but not as bad).
