How do I handle a short bench in IDP (1 Viewer)

This is my first time playing IDP. We draft Sunday. We start 7 offensive positions, 3 IDP at ANY position, and a kicker. We only have 6 bench spots. MY thought was to allow 5 bench spots for offense and only one for defense. Is this a sound strategy?

IDP waiver wire will be very deep in that format, so there is no reason to keep an IDP on the bench (other than your stud IDPs on bye weeks).

If you have an IR slot consider using it on Bowman since he is top 5 when healthy.
