How I Met Your Mother (1 Viewer)

Stupid Presidential address screwed up my TiVo.  What the hell happened in the last 15 minutes?
Ted won over Robin (he "made it rain" outside, cancelling her station's camping trip). Marshall and Lilly broke it off (he was sitting outside with her engagement ring in his hand, looking sad).

Hopefully this show will end soon so they can spinoff Barney. THAT would be a funny show.
I don't know how well Barney would work as the main character. They need to kill off Ted somehow - he's the problem.

I'm pretty disappointed with all the character development. Barney is the shining star but I agree that he's best kept in moderate doses.

Didn't see Marshall and Lilly break up coming.

Even though the Ted character is kind of pathetic, I like this show.

I don't like it as much as my wife, and I do echo the Ted's annoying complaints, but I do enjoy the show as well and was kind of shocked when Marshall was on the steps at the end of last night's show. I thought it was a good ending.

Also, I think Barney works just as he is. Any more and he would get old, any less and the show wouldn't be watchable.

So anyone else thinks that Ted ends up marrying Lilly? The producers have already said he doesn't marry Robin.

I do like this show though. Different kind of funny from Earl or Office, but still entertaining.

That would be an interesting twist. Has he ever mentioned "Aunt Lilly"?

The season premiere is tonight. I'm hoping this season will improve over last season with Ted not looking for love since he's with Robin (however long that lasts), the show can focus on other things.

This season is much better than last season. Why?

1. More Barney

2. The Ted character is less annoying and actually shows some backbone sometimes.

3. Splitting up Lily and Marshall has put them in funny situations that they couldn't explore last season.

If you've missed out so far - now's a time to try it again.

I've kept up with this as well. I like how we found out how Ted's first building came about. More Barney has definitely been a good thing.

I do like the show, but it's going to be hard to see Barney as that ladies man after learning this.

My undersatnding was that this was somewhat common knowledge. This doesn't take away anything for me.

It's a sad day in American television. Why Doogie, why?

Yeah, he should go back to playing a 16 year old ER doctor. That way I won't have to supend my disbelief.

The only relative I remember being mentioned was Aunt Robin. Which I assume means he marries Robin's sister, or she marries his brother?

No it's just what the his kids call her. My kids call my best friend "Uncle Brad" even though he's not really their uncle.

I actually had never seen this show until the summer and one of my friends gave me a dvd with every episode on it and I got hooked...definitely one of my favorites.

I liked how they are introducing a little more about Barney with showing his apt. and Ted's family/work life. I think they are doing a great job developing story and always look foward to watching this (I tivo this while MNF is on of course!)

I still don't know what Barney does for a living???

Wow, almost on cue last night Ted said "Aunt Lilly". Thought of your post immediately when I heard it last night.

Yeah I caught that too. I'm disappointed the got Lilly and Marshell back together again so quickly.

Anybody get the rip on Friends at the beginning with all the guys sitting around a coffee house only to shake their heads and say it wasn't as good as the bar?

:coffee:   :banned:

And, at the end, they paid homage to Cheers - even using the same chyron font for the credits as Cheers did.

No one know what Barney does for a living. This will probably be like Norm's wife Vera never showed her face on screen - we'll probably never know.

I thought so too because he had Marshall come work there, him being a law student, but Wikipedia says:
Barney works for UltraCell, a company that produces military weapons as well as the outsides of tennis balls, although nobody actually knows what Barney does for a job, despite being asked repeatedly, to which he always replies "Oh please".

They didn't kill off Ted, but this season we haven't seen the mopey Ted, so that is just as good. This season is 10x better than last season.
