How I Met Your Mother (1 Viewer)

What got me was how Lily and the mother hit it off on the train without Lily ever asking her "Where are you headed?"

The mother is the bass player for the wedding band at Barney and Robin's wedding..

I thought it was solid enough. I've been playing out the string with this thing for so long, I never expect much anymore, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Any feedback on the season premier last night??

I enjoyed it.. I didn't find it overly funny, but I'm glad that they are wrapping everything up.
I wonder if they have exiled Jason Segel for the entire season...
The whole season is set around the 48 hours of the weekend that the wedding occurs.... so maybe?
Wasnt he holding out for more money at one point?
He probably had a scheduling conflict.

Not a big fan of this season - hate the 24 real time format - wish they would just meet the darn mother and have her be a character for a few episodes while it wraps up....guess it is what it is at this point.

While Ted and Marshall were on the rooftop in their costumes, as that scene was breaking away, was that the "mother" that was standing behind Ted? I think she was in a pumpkin outfit? They seemed to linger on her a second longer than usual in a cutaway scene, that's why I was curious. I rewinded it, and still couldn't tell, but it looked like her.

It was the slutty pumpkin. Which make zero sense in the timeline as we know it.

this. and Ted is even more annoyingly... well, gay's the wrong word as the gay character is awesome. but weak, #####?

Apparently she was coming back to the same party, in the same costume, looking for Ted too... but he was not dressed as the "Hanging Chad" that year, so she did not recognize him ;)

And he was too obsessed with the thank you note issue to notice her. I thought it was a nice little throw away joke for those that have been following all this time.

It was funny, but he mentioned before that he went back every year as the hanging Chad. His constant obsession with finding the mother goes against his wearing a thank you note. Not a big deal, but it seems they tried too hard here.

This season overall has been the worst.

Not sure why I continue to watch....feels like I need to commit to the end at this point. Show is pretty painful and played out, unfortunately.

I was hopeful after the season premier, but these last couple of episodes have been really legendcrappy.

It's like they hired new writers who don't know anything about the history of the characters. Are we really supposed to believe that Ted, Lily and Marshall went 6 friggin' years without figuring out what happened to the wedding gift??

Feels a lot like the Dexter-final season writers were hired to do this final season as well.

Are they hired hitters just brought in for the final seasons of shows?

Pretty sure it's only sheer stubbornness which is keeping me watching at this point.

This season is written... poorly

Some decent moments this episode but everything is just over the top and not put together all that well.

I liked Daphne, but the text?

So are they splicing in Jason Segel's scenes? It felt like it with the way they kept switching camera angles when he was talking with Lily in his head with the black lady's voice in place of Lily's.

Pretty much. Jason was off filming "This is the End" and "Sex Tape" instead of the show.

Current day mom is probably dead, no? Explains why Ted is telling this story to begin with - though you would think the story would focus more on the mom, than all the events leading up to that.

I believe that has already been discussed here. I don't think that's the case. In one episode Ted talks about telling his future kids how he and their mom met, so that would seem to indicate that this is just something he wants to do, not because the mom is dead. Plus I don't think the show would end on that type of nut. In fact, I suspect in the final shot when he tells the kids "And that's how I met your mother" we finally see Ted and his wife in the room.

Will it be Bob Saget??

If it's not, will that be the biggest disappointment in TV history?

That's what I assumed, but I think it would be a nice twist to have Saget show up.

I told my kids how I met their mother in, like, 2 minutes.
Sure, but unlike Ted, you left out the time you went down on the waitress in the middle of IHOP and coughed up a short-and-curly onto some guy's rooty-tooty-fresh-and-fruity breakfast. Some things your kids just need to know imo.

I included that. But it took 5 minutes to describe the burning sensation.

I haven't watched all year. But watched tonight

The Marshall storyline is blah.

But seeing Barney's Mom hug Robin, was very special.

And then Ted proposing on top of the Lighthouse, wow

I am seeing it again tonight. He seems to be with Josh Radnor for the Harlem Globetrotters game, but the other two appearances he is CGI'd in

Tonight's episode was one of the better this season just for the fact that it had Segel interacting with the group and not the awful Daphne road trip story.

Yeah, having him there with the group (even tho it was just Ted besides one small scene with all 4) makes a huge difference.
