How is there no news on this board about Calvin Johnson (1 Viewer)

It's Monday, If he's not Probable by Friday afternoon. Check your lineup Sunday.

I should tweet that maybe gain some followers for my amazing insight.

I get that you guys are talking more about injury reports - but how is there no information about why he missed the game other than "knee?"

I have fear that it's worse - much worse.

Lions are as tight lipped as they come. Calvin said he thought he would be good to go, but couldn't do it in warm ups. He expects to be ready Saturday. I wouldn't panic, great buy low IMO.

The point is - a top 10 or so star unexpectedly misses a game - there should be information. If Peyton Manning was scratched an hour before his game - there would be plenty of info shared.

Hoping for the best

A little concerned it's worse

Did you not see he was questionable all week last week? It didn't come out of nowhere.

He was questionable all week and was supposedly close on Sunday. I think he has a 50/50 shot of playing this week, and if not then he should be good to go next week. I haven't seen anything to indicate there is anything hidden to worry about. Injuries happen, and 1-2 ones are common and shouldn't be fretted. The guy is 6'5", 240. That leaves him more susceptible than most to knee injuries and IIRC he's had issues with them in the past. Back then he would commonly play through them.

"Lions HC Jim Schwartz didn't shed much light on WR Calvin Johnson's status in his Monday press conference. "We’ll see where he gets this week," Schwartz said. "He’s improving every day and if we can get him back that’ll be a big bonus for us for sure." Schwartz also revealed that Johnson injured the knee in Week 4's game against the Bears. Johnson said after Sunday's game that he was "real close" to playing. Considering that was his 1st missed game since 2009, we're expecting him back for this weekend's game against the Browns."

I did see he was questionable all week but like most (it would seem), I took suggestions that it was injury report "gamesmanship" at face value. At the end of the day, it is what it is but I certainly understand if some people are questioning why no one following the team closely (especially those paid to do so) didn't dig a little deeper.

Rule#1: Nobody talks about Calvin Johnson.

I saw a few people posting saying they were 1st time owners so I'm gonna toss this out there. The last 2 years have been unprecedented for Calvin and I am sure people just have in the heads of how great he is (and he is).

However, as a guy who has owned him since the beginning, I can tell you that we have seen this pattern before. He has not been as durable or automatic as people might think and he has a frustratingly annoying habit of putting up a TD with no gaudy stat line or a gaudy stat line with no TDs at times. These last two seasons have been the perfect storm for him and its been great. Just know that when you hear about his knee, his back, or his leg, that all these things have been on his injury report over and over and over again so it probably bears at least following to make sure he's a go.

With all that being said; he is Calvin so enjoy!
