Football's a violent game and people lose their cool. He didn't blow up a defenseless player subjecting him to a career ending blow. He stomped a guy and got ejected for it. People who throw punches get ejected, but that's it. Same should hold true here. I do think they'll fine him more b/c of thanksgiving.exposure etc.

Pretty much irrelevant and you could say that about any Dlineman as they are likely held quite often.

That really doesn't mean anything. In the video I posted earlier of Brown punching Sessions, Sessions didn't react either. Football players are tough and get hit far worse in legal plays than they do in almost any personal foul.

Wonder if Pereira wrote about the horrible job the officiating crew did yesterday. Doubtful.

Except for the atrociously bad roughing the QB call on Rodgers against the Lions, there weren't any other egregiously bad calls that I can remember. It is not the fault of the refs that the Lions are an undisciplined bunch who commit far too many penalties.

Is there a set time the NFL hands out fines/suspensions?

My guess is that Goodell will wait till all of week 12's games are over, but you never know.

There were some pretty bad calls in the game. Two PI calls I believe that were ridiculous. A chop block that was bad. More than the PI, which was made worse by the fact that GB had a later hit the drive before that wasnt flagged. THe refs definitely dropped the ball on this game.

Few things...neither the KVB or Matthews hit should have been flagged.I don't think KVB's hit was flagged for late (and they missed the late hit against detroit a play or two later that was worse as far as lateness to both of those mentioned)KVB's hit, IMO was flagged for the way his head was leading a bit (again, I don't think it should have been flagged) and that Rodgers head snapped back. I think that appearance is what the refs thought was helmet to helmet or roughing however you want to call it. I don't think it was about being late.Im assuming you mean the PI in the endzone on Jennings. Can't pull a guy's jersey away from his body twice...once with the ball in the air. It will get called every time.

I wasn't talking about the end zone one. It was in the 1st quarter, but I could be combining two games in my memory. I remember a slew of bad calls early though.

I've always liked the Lions since they were my late father's team. Listen to Schwartz on NFL radio many times and think he seems like a pretty good guy. Picked them to beat the Packers yesterday. Thought the KVB call was total crap, etc..

But I am amazed at some people on here trying to justify Suh's actions yesterday. To me, the guy obviously needs help. I've heard him interviewed and he seems intelligent and well spoken but man - put a helmet on him and he turns into a knucklehead. If I was a Detroit fan, I'd be more interested in getting his anger management issues corrected than I would be trying to defend him and looking pretty silly in the process. He cost the Lions at least 4 pts yesterday by his actions. He may have cost them even more in momentum. They made a big 3rd down stop and next thing you know - it's a 1st down near their goal line.

Bill Cowher said yesterday - this is an issue that Schwartz should be dealing with. That he should be the one telling Suh that is not the way I want football to be played. But I'm starting to wonder if Schwartz might have his own issues - to many things questionable are starting to pile up on the Lions side of the ledger - Schwartz/Harbaugh issue, Lions/Bears skirmish the previous week and Suh's continual accumulation of issues. There is a lot of smoke around this team right now - it can't always be the other guys fault when things keep happening.

Doctor said without the glove, my finger would have been shattered. You think someone with Suh's power, intentionally stomping on someone wouldn't cause damage? If Suh actually stomped on him, the guy would be seriously bruised, most likely bleeding, and a good chance of a broken bone.

I think you are missing the point. So should everyone who is driving drunk be charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon and serve 25 years in jail?1 game suspension is fine. But anything similar to AH suspension would be outrageous. Especially after a player kick another player in the nuts and got nothing.

There is a difference between a guy who connects and continues the attack and a guy who misses and walks away. Many on this thread have equated this to Haynesworth, when it does not even belong in the same universe as. Besides if you look at the picture posted above, it was at that point Suh's foot appeared to get stuck or held and Suh reacts and kicks. Suh is overly aggressive and it needs to be brought under control, I am just not buying he is this thug out to hurt someone. He comes across as too intelligent and out of character with his demeanor.

I agree with the Schwartz angle. Suh is not an out of control mad man, he is just a player who needs to check his aggression a bit. Schwartz is not instilling enough discipline, but this event is being blown extremely out of proportion.

There's division on whether or not he should be suspended for it (though the people saying the press conference should affect it are a little weird), but there's practically universal recognition that it was a stompp. Even if he was, in fact, just trying to get out of the entanglement, which is what I originally thought but the video clearly shows is not true. The screen shot you linked to showed an open hand, his foot was not being held. Even if it was, you'd think he would pull his foot away, especially since he was being pushed/pulled away from the guy.

Why are some people in this thread getting personally involved and acting like Suh stomped their mother? It was two 310lb pro football players that have been battling all day in a scrum..and one guy got stepped on and is no worse for it.

It took Dietrich-Smith less than two seconds to get up and walk away after being brutally stomped on by a 300-lb mad man who was trying to maimed him? He displayed no anger. Did not look at or touch his arm. In one quick motion, got up and strolled on his way acting like nothing happened. All the other Packers were pointing it out. Why? Because it looked 100 times worse than it actually was. The guy was hardly touched.

This incident is being blown up way out of proportion it ain't even funny. Suh was being pulled away from the guy. His foot may have contacted the arm, but there was zero force because the defender had control of Suh. The guy on the ground never even reacted in any way that he was hit. The reality is Suh's foot barely brushed the guy and calling it an assault or stomp is silly.

I am saying Suh was being held by the other GB guy, and barely touched Evan, thus there was no stomp. It is obvious the impact was very minimal or Evan would have reacted. I am also saying the intent is not absolutely certain. You can argue that he attempted to stomp, but it is possible he was just kicking his leg trying to avoid Evan from grabbing it. Everyone seems to be in Suh's head and believes it was purely intentional, but I see the guy touching Suh and Suh possibly responding to that. Yes, the video looks bad, but it is not conclusively bad. The pushing the head against the ground is the worse part, but they were going at it pretty heavy. This is not entirely one-sided. The guy is an offensive lineman and was being very aggressive against Suh even after they went to the ground.

I am not talking about retaliating. If you get stomped on by a 300 lb man you react. Period. You shake your arm, or rub it, or at least look at it. It was not a stomp.
