Why the hell does somebody need 7 pairs of golf shoes?
Eh, it's probably my overindulgence or vice. I have a few light, zero drop pairs for the summer, some cleated pairs for post-rain rounds or when playing in another area of the country, and over the last year I've fallen in love with Ecco and bought three pairs to match different color schemes.

I play an average of at least once a week and honestly they all get use.

Good casual shoes.  What people should wear to warm weather functions instead of boat shoes or their 'good' flip flops.  Work with jeans and khakis.

Don't need more than one pair, unless you have a sickness, as I clearly do.
Again, keep in mind who is posting this, but those might be some of the ugliest things I have seen.  And I am guessing they are expensive because they are 'fashionable'?

Golf is generally 6 or 7 am to mid morning on the weekends in the summer or I plan to go during their afternoon nap during the winter. Still plenty of weekend time.

And, every single weekday morning from 5:15 - 7:00 (I always get up with them) and I always try to get home from work before they go to bed. Oh, and one of them is sitting on my lap as I type this.

Honestly though if I didn't play at least one round of golf or a softball tournament on the weekend I'd be incredibly unhappy. God bless my wife for understanding that. I need to play sports to be happy

Since you obviously cannot understand, I'll explain it.  And I'll use small words.

Shoes are what you wear to work (if you'll in a business setting) or to a wedding.

Sneakers are what you wear when you're playing an athletic event like basketball or even just hacking around.

Cleats are what you wear when you're playing football or baseball or soccer.

Boots can be either western style footwear ("cowboy" boots) or work boots (construction, for example).

Casual footwear can be things like flipflops, sandals, boat shoes, etc.

Glad to be able to educate you on this.
Do you wear an ascot?

I want to get a pair of Sketchers after seeing the recent Tony Romo commercial.  Are these things cool now or still nursing home shoes?
Somewhere in between. Romo, Montana, and Howie Long made them slightly more fashionable. But they would be out of business without the gimmick rounded soles. New Balance has taken control of that market (nursing home) for the most part.

5 pair - work shoes, 2 pair running shoes, 2 pair bike cleats (MTB, road).  Average age ~5 years.   Complete waste of money to have more.

My wife makes up for this with 60+.  It's a compulsion.

What are driving shoes?   And why do I need more than one pair?

do you put them on when you get in the car and take them off and switch into your sneakers when you go to Trader Joe's, and then switch back into them when you get back with the groceries   Do you leave them in the car?

i'm honestly shuked
3 pairs of something that i have no clue as to what they are..driving shoes?  saw the follow up posts.  why are they called driving shoes?
