I would think anyone who works business casual has to be 12+.  I'm glad that was one of the options so I don't have to come up with every pair I have, but I know it goes way past 12.

I think I have 8 at the moment

Brown and black loafers

Brown and black dress shoes

Tennis shoes

Like a boat shoe or sneaker or whatever you'd call it

2 pairs of sandals (one brown leather,  one black kinda rubbery that can get wet)

Crocs

#### that's 9

Flip flops

sneakers (two pairs)

dress shoes

work shoes, not as dressy

GNR boots

casual sneaker things

snow boots

alligator shoes

Anyone with a ######, sure.

;)
Brown semi dressy shoes. X 2
Brown formal shoes for suits
Black semi dressy shoes
Black formal shoes for suits
Leather flip flops
Running shoes
Basketball shoes
Winter boots
(Yard) work boots
casual shoes for jeans
Hiking boots
Cleats

I guess I was assuming people are active too, on top of going to work (and/or live in places with different seasons).  If I never exercised, didn't own a yard, or had to deal with seasons, I wouldn't need many of the above.  I could get away with brown shoes, black shoes, flip flops and some sort of casual shoe.  I could keep going on the above, but that's 12 easy all with a different purpose.

Maybe it's due to my age (55), but I don't count "sneakers" as "shoes".  I just don't.  So it's a different unit of measure for me...just like boots are different.

That's one of the strangest distinctions I've heard in a long time.

I would guess a dozen +, but some of the shoes are fairly specific. 3 pairs of soccer shoes, tennis shoes, running shoes, work boots, and hiking boots got me to 7 and I haven't looked at work or casual shoes yet.

Yeah, that takes me out.  I also don't count boots as shoes, so if that's the case I guess I would add one.

All I have is one pair of tennis/athletic shoes that I wear most of the time, a ####ty old pair for tooling around the yard, and some sort of dressy thing for if I ever need that.  Sadly even when I am shoveling snow and such I usually just throw the old shoes on too.  Barely ever wear boots unless I am sledding/playing with the kids.

Of course you are talking to a 40 year old man that basically just rocks the same 2 pair of jeans and a huge rotation of Tshirts every day.

:jealous:

Black dress shoes

Brown dress shoes

Flip Flops

"Nice?" sandals

Crocs

Running shoes

Trail running shoes

Mud/Snow running shoes x2

Lawn shoes which also dub as mud/snow running shoes when both of those are still muddy/snowy

Cleats

Boots

Waaaaay more than 12.  Probably around 25.

3 pairs of dress shoes for work

3 pairs of casual shoes

2 pairs of running shoes

1 pair of zero drop shoes for crossfit

2 pairs of random sneaker

1 pair basketball shoes

1 pair tennis shoes

2 pairs of softball turfs

7 pairs of golf shoes

1 pair football cleats

1 pair soccer cleats

a few pairs of sandals

I went with more than 12...  the more I think about it the more I realize I may have 12+ just in the garage...  two yardwork sneakers, crocs, and a few pair of old work boots, two soccer/softball cleats, two pair of golf shoes, snow boots, 2 pair old sandals...

your poor feet & back
Yeah, I probably don't do enough activity for that to be much of a factor.   It's not like they are 10 years old, I usually just have a pair or two at a time.  It get pissed when I have to spend money on the few pairs of shoes I do have, no way would have have one for every individual activity that I would encounter throughout the year.

Again, I don't have the activity level, employment, or money that the average FFAer does either.  Doesn't take much to maintain the stay at home dad bod.

I think by having more pairs of shoes they all last longer.  Between rotating shoes and a local cobbler, I buy a new pair of work shoes every 4-5 years.

2 Dress pairs - brown, black

Black sneakers

A pair of good running shoes

A pair flip flops

A set of workboots

I also own a pair of snow boots and ski boots but I don't think those count so I put 5-6.

I'd guess somewhere close to 100. Mostly sneakers. Nike, Jordan, Adidas, a couple pairs so far of Yeezys. But I collect. A good bit of them I get to wearing once a year for an occasion. Have a few pairs of more formal footwear and some boots, more for style rather than work though. I don't do sandals/crocs.

I'm actually curious what I come up with -

  • 4 pair of dress shoes
  • 4 pair of dress/casual chukka boots
  • 3 pair of flippy flops
  • 2 pair of crocs :bag:
  • 5 pair of sneakers/running shoes
  • 2 pair of sandals
  • 1 pair of boat shoes
  • 1 pair of Toms
  • 1 pair of slipper (do those count?)
  • 1 pair of driving shoes
  • 1 pair of cowboy boots
  • 1 pair of work boots
26 pair.  Holy cow.  I probably actively wear about 18 or so of those...

ETA: Forgot a few:

  • 1 pair Soccer cleats
  • 1 pair Winter/rain boots
  • 1 pair Snowboarding Boots (do those count?)
  • 1 pair of those neoprene water shoes
A nice round 30 now.

Black Dress Shoes

Casual Sneakers

So 10, I guess I picked the wrong option on the poll.

Total dress type shoes 6 and a couple pair of flip flops.

I am an athletic running shoe junkie though.  Have at least 10 pair right now not counting 3 pair of golf shoes.

7-8 for me. At least half of them are related to my sports- basketball, tennis, running and hiking. I then have one nice pair of brown dress shoes, one pair of black dress shoes, one pair of chuck taylors for casual wear and one pair of sketchers sneakers for running errands. My days of being a sneaker geek are long gone.

Not the same. :coffee:
