I don't know how many times I have reached into my own pocket to help around here but it's more than a few. And I don't know how many times I have sent a personal PM to someone going thru a tragedy in their life, a hospital stay, major surgery....you're just being a jerk right now because it's the cool thing to do. Maybe it made you feel better to post all that.Maybe care a little about what other people say occasionally, and a little less about how you feel about everything in the world and you won't feel so blindsided when someone dares to express his own past experiences in reaction to your statement.
WTF manSorry if your dad really died that way but in 15 years on this board I'm just hearing this story and only being used in defense because you obviously see I'm not playing around when I posted.
And what do you do for a living? Are you rolling in the dough like everyone else in here?dear ####### god
Yes, I'm being the jerk. To be cool.I don't know how many times I have reached into my own pocket to help around here but it's more than a few. MOP doesn't think highly of the medical community and the drug companies...let's run that ####### off the boards. The level of demonization that occurs every time I voice an opinion is beyond normal let's say. There's always been and always will be a double standard or higher standard for MOP.
I think I know he LeBron must feel now, whew!
To be fair he did apologize to me.Had anyone ever seen MOP apologize? He throws the venom and then plays the victim.
I'm not sure "sorry, but I think you're lying" qualifies. To be fair he did apologize to me.
If you are cool with it, then that's clearly what matters. It seemed backhanded as he seemed to be accusing you of lying (assuming we are looking at the same post). To be fair he did apologize to me.
I'm sure as hell not doing my best to ruin kids lives by pretending to be an educator. And what do you do for a living? Are you rolling in the dough like everyone else in here?
Jesus H. Christ
In a different thread.I'm not sure "sorry, but I think you're lying" qualifies.
Fair enough. But now I have my coolness to think of.In a different thread.
If being a jerk is cool, then MOP is Miles Davis.Fair enough. But now I have my coolness to think of.
Bull####.The level of demonization that occurs every time I voice an opinion is beyond normal let's say.
Oh whatever Richie RichBull####.
You get skewered when you say things that are ####### stupid. If that happens more than you would like, look in the damn mirror.
I make huge bank.Geez - WTF happened? I came to see glorious tales of FBG's making huge bank and I come into a medical industry holy war? Black dots will be leaving in droves....
First to worst, ammirightthe moops said:An Otis thread that turned into a thread about MOP.

1. If you sent a personal pm, how can you expect others to take that gesture and sentiment into account when evaluation one of your posts which come across as myopic and self-centered?Ministry of Pain said:I don't know how many times I have reached into my own pocket to help around here but it's more than a few. It is to my shame that I enjoy it so when they do. Not that I enjoy you getting riled, but rather I enjoy how you conduct yourself when riled. I respect you tremendously.Henry Ford said:People anger me occasionally.
... finally some white guy just has to talk about The Wire....
You're far too kind.It is to my shame that I enjoy it so when they do. Not that I enjoy you getting riled, but rather I enjoy how you conduct yourself when riled. I respect you tremendously.
You guys inspired me, so I've spent day and night this weekIt's like you read my mind. Now, for the FBG's success poll we need Otis to post a question about our income multiplied by the 1 through 10 hotness figure for our wives, divided by our body fat % number as a raw number and not a %, divided by number of STD's (Those with 0 get to multiple by 1.7.
So if you make 1 million per year, have a wife who is a 9, have a body fat rating of 20% and have herpes and genital warts your number is 225000. If you make 400,000, have a wife who is a 9, have 10% body fat and no STDs you get a 385,200.
developing a system that will rate users based on a number of categories. After countless hours of R&D and extensive testing, I am finally ready to roll out the new FBG Rating System (FBGR). Open to suggestions to tweak it. One thing I'm thinking is adding a weighting to the salary to account for cost of living.

Positive Points for:@shader - thoughts?
Your general thinking is pretty accurate.Positive Points for:
Liverpool
Any "non-Big 6 team"
Neutral Points for:
Arsenal
Chelsea
Negative Points for:
ManU
Tottenham
Man City (won't have to worry about this one...don't know if these fans exist)
Double Negative Points for:
Making fun of soccer or not having a favorite EPL team
What if your favorite EPL team is no longer in the EPL, having been relegated twice?Positive Points for:

It will account for this. What if your favorite EPL team has been relegated twice?
So as long as Your annual contribution doesn't exceed $18k, your company can match on top, yes?If you max out your contribution in July, the company can no longer match on your % that you contribute because you no longer can contribute.
I get quarterly "bonuses" and have to make sure I leave enough on the table to not lose out later in the year.
It depends on what your matching terms are, but for me, no.So as long as Your annual contribution doesn't exceed $18k, your company can match on top, yes?
FX trading doesn't seem to be the best fit for a risk adverse guy.I am a fairly risk adverse guy. I would start small potatoes me thinks.
Depends on what you consider desirable. Living in a city is the worst.Quote didn't work. Referring to below

"I make $100K a year but it feels like $300K because I live where a) it's currently -29 with windchill - or at least lower than MOP's current Q rating on this board b) tumbleweeds are the state tree c) cicadas are the state pet".
Downgrades living in desirable areas. If you went this way you'd have to throw in state tax situation, quality of the wimmenz, etc. Don't overweight cheap dirt.
