How to draft RB's this year? (1 Viewer)

if you cant acquire DJ or Bell, i would probably plan for a WR heavy zeroish RB approach. the fact is there are many "cheap" rb's that have excellent potential... you put 5 or 6 of those guys on your roster you are bound to hit on 1-2 as the season rolls along

Right and the way you stated these facts was just funny to me.
Of course I highlighted the positives, but you have hindsight on your side. At the time, I bet lots of people here were really excited about that Yeldon pick. Right now, it is easy to dismiss Ivory, but Ivory was coming off of a very good 2015 season (1070/7 with 4.3 ypc and 30/217/1).

Yeah I overpaid for DJ in my new start up this year. I see a lot of years left for him where his carries could be only in the low 200's but he catches so many balls he's still a top 3-4 RB in PPR. Add in his 400 point season ceiling the next 2-3 years plus the positional scarcity and you have by far the most valuable player in fantasy football.
Him and Bell are just so far above everyone else. Bell has the injury concerns and the potential he's on a different team next year. So I agree DJ is head and shoulders the RB to own.

Not sure many Jaguar fans were very excited about Yeldon, and while Ivory runs hard he has been a JAG his whole career. I'm high on fournette this year and am predicting a top 10 finish. For the record I am 11/12 and will be grabbing him as my rb2 not rb1.

I snagged Murray at the end of round 2 (2.11) and then I picked a couple mid-round RB's in Ingram (7.04) and Gillislee.  I only took Gillislee because of the value (8.09) but I am still not comfortable with my stable of running backs. So much so that I am largely ignoring mid-round receivers to fill in the rest of my RB's with late round upside plays like Rawls and Jamaal Williams. I will probably grab another lottery pick and hope for the best.

You have me interested in fournette a bit

What RBS do you have in front of him?

I am not trying to put any of these people on blast, just showing how much easier it is looking in the rear view. People really really liked Yeldon.

I'll come right out and say it - Yeldon is the most impressive RB prospect I've seen since AP.
Yeldon

Abdullah

Coleman

David Johnson

Duke Johnson
Love him and love the spot.
Top 10 dynasty pick now
so I am facing a hard decision to make between Yeldon and Gurley in my Devy draft, any suggestions who would you take ?

To be fair I can find 10 of these types of posts in almost any players decidcated thread. Time will tell though.

In my personal rankings I have him after fournette. Between his age and Henry breathing down his neck I'm worried about his touches. I wouldn't be surprised if the Titans try and keep him more fresh this year, he started slowing down towards the end of last year.

I don't do snake drafts only auction so bear that in mind.  I plan on grabbing 2 out of DJ, LeVeon, McCoy, and Elliott.  If I'm not able to, I will pass on the position until very late.  I don't trust guys like Howard, Ajayi, Fournette, Gurley, etc.  nearly enough to invest that heavily in them. I'd much rather grab guys like CJ Prosise, Kareem Hunt, Jamaal Williams, etc. and pair them up with a Terrance West, Jacquizz Rodgers, Darren McFadden, Rob Kelley, etc.  to get me through the early part of the year.

He was hurt end of last year

Why won't this year be a mess on offense? Why does have 2 backs  splitting the work make their RB production bad? Seemed to work for Atlanta, New Orleans, etc.

Absolutely there is a strong chance Fournette is top 10. I said he could have a 2015 Gurley season. That's really strong. However, you are also buying into all the usual rookie question marks on an offense that hasn't had a clue how how to get any success out of their RBs the last 2 years. I would be very nervous making Fournette my RB1.
While we know Jacksonville couldn't get production from their RBs during the last two seasons, we do not know what's in store for 2017. And you know what? What other (likely less talented) RBs did behind a different o-line, with a poor defense and with a different coaching staff and offensive philosophy does very little to provide and info whatsoever on that.
