How will the next 4 years go down in history when looking back at it in 2037?

He is off to one of the greatest financial runs ever, stock market is roaring and hopes are flying high.

Will it continue, or is this hope going to crash and burn?

He inherited a great economic situation, rising stock market, string of great job reports, lots of good things.

It'll take a few years before we'll be able to tell how his policies and agenda affect the markets, whether he takes us to war (i consider likely), and what impact the deportation and shut down of immigration largely will have.  I think in some markets, like financials, they'll do pretty great, and some other sectors might benefit from his deregulation push.

But as a whole, i think the longer term impacts will be more negative.  Likely to vastly increase the national debt.  Likely to not invest in important forward thinking initiatives that are science based.  No attention to climate change likely.  Lots of other things like that domestically, socially, etc.  It'll be a missed opportunity for our country to largely gear ourselves for the future that's coming...and we, I guess, will look back on his one or two terms as being an incredible missed opportunity at best, and a pretty bad time for all americans at worst.

Will be hard to base it off taking over a stock market at bubble valuations but it has been a nice bump. He could do a good job and we will probably still see the market get back to historical P/E at some point. If he somehow pulls that off through economic growth catching up to these crazy valuations that would be amazing.

Somebody, Tim maybe, had a thread on Obamas legacy started in his second term but with years left.  My answer there was that it was too early to determine, even though we had years of evidence.  I'm tempted to answer this question, but I am going to take the same position, it is too early to say.

Any term that keeps the economy going and out of major wars will be above average.  If that happens though he will probably get another term so anything can happen.
