9.15.15: The Artie Quitter Podcast - Stuttering John & Artie Talk About PC Howard
Is there a particularly good part? Got through 5 minutes of stuttering John beating around the bush on an Opie and Anthony story and I had to punt.
I am an hour in and what they are saying is completely true about Howard. His transformation into ####ification and becoming PC and tame is embarrassing.

Seems like the 38-minute mark for about 5 minutes is the PC stuff. Plus about 10 minutes after that is pretty interesting about John leaving the show and the suggestion that Howard has prevented some people from getting gigs, and they reference this article: http://pagesix.com/2015/08/21/the-woman-responsible-for-howard-sterns-pc-behavior/

That is kind of rubbing me the wrong way actually.

Lot of people think it was Eizenberg? Guy who did Amazing Race. Howard tried to screw him. Threw a lame lawsuit at him.

Howard is a bad guy but has made for great radio throughout the years.

John said he was making 85k a year when he left. Pretty crazy when you think of how much air-time he got and content provided.

25% of Howard's show revolves around "characters" that he pays peanuts too. From wack pack to people like JD/Sal/Richard.

Howard is just a bad person, annoying and you can add hypocrite as well. John and Artie nailed it as Howard got emotional about the stuttering comic on AGT, but beat the crap out of John for it for years. I signed up for Sirius again last week. Haven't heard a minute of entertainment from 100 or 101 since. I did hear a repeat for almost an hour of Howard praising his diet on Wedneaday. I guess they're on a vacation again?

I had no idea that yucko created Bristleberry. He must be getting PAID off of that. Good for him.

I am shocked Howard hasn't taken credit for that.

He's hurt by it? "F off" - Artie article with soundcloud clip (NSFW Language on sound cloud link)
So Artie doesn't like Sour Shoes doing him. Interesting.

I haven't been listening much the last month, all my time for listening is taken up with FF podcasts.
Think he said Sour not funny unless they are writing for him. Don't think I agree with that. Sour so all over the place. Hard to script that.

I tell ya. I don't know what turned the show into the crap that it is now, but for me, at least 50% of the reason things went REALLY down hill was Eric The Midget dying.

My favorite Stern shtick/guest/caller/wack pack of all time.

I still listen to his call ins on a loop non stop.

This is so funny that you mention this. I've literally been listening to Eric the Midget bits all day at work for the past couple months. If you YouTube eric the midget, somebody has posted 8 hour clips of Eric the Midget bits from each year. Great background noise while getting some work done. He was by far the best and completely put that show on another level.

:lmao: yup this is exactly what I've been listening to for weeks. Great stuff.
And it's up to date through his death.

I've said it a million times in here. If you start with his first call ever and just go through the years, he was the greatest thing that ever happened to that show. I miss that little #### so much. Nothing breaks me up more than his shtick.

He was actually very "with it" for whackpacker but he was so damn gullible. I sincerely believe that Howard really did love him.

gullible and indignant about EVERYTHING

I'm finishing up the end of 2013 where he gets angry over tweets accusing him of things like "being a vega" "being lost in the Congo on the set of a TV Show" "going to whip his cahk out on the set of his next TV show"

oh and...

"he played the role of the feet being stuck under the house in the Wizard of Oz" :lmao:

Do we know if Howard paid Eric at all? Or did he just give him some free junk occasionally?
I doubt he actually paid him but he really did give Eric everything he ever wanted in life -- fame. Eric got so many different stupid gigs (which he loved) because of the Howard Stern show. I think he truly appreciated Howard for that even though he always came across as an angry, miserable midget. For a guy with such a short life expectancy, I think that was more important to him than money.

definitely, always liked the little guy, but didn't fully appreciate how awesome he was until he was gone.

Eric, Hank, and Beetle are/were the top Wack Packers in the history of the show. Might even have to put Eric #1. Love Beetle but he isn't capable of bringing consistent daily entertainment, he's more of a novelty.

The current Packers who are on a lot suck. Jeff the Drunk and Bobo are boring and bring nothing to the table.

The good Wack Packers are leaving us, High Pitch Eric/Jeff the Drunk just don't do it for me.

This. Since he's been gone I've become a much bigger fan

What really hits me about ETM's death is just how awesome he would've been on Periscope. That would've been a goldmine of comedy right there.
