I've listened to both for a long time. At his best, Stern was pretty amazing. But even the most rabid fan has to admit that the best days are behind him. Truthfully, I think O&A's show is a half-notch worse since the Syndication Now days, but it's still better than Stern.

And Kidd Chris' show is better than both.

I can't believe people are arguing about radio hosts. They all suck it's just a matter of who sucks less.

I used to listen to Stern every morning, now that he's on satellite I don't. To tell you the truth I don't really miss it that much. I tried O&A and wasn't impressed. Now I just listen to sports radio which also sucks but seems to suck a little less that the alternatives. Terrestrial radio these days is really crap.

As an Opie & Anthony fan from pre-syndication now, pre-sex for sam and pre-XM, I gotta say they have been VERY ####### boring the past 4 months. I tune in alot now that they are back in NY and it is VERY ho hum radio. You would think they would crank it up a notch now that they have their big shot.Giving a fat chick a dollar for every pound she weighs? That is a ####### bit? Dumbest and boring-est radio I have heard in morning drive in the past 15 years.

Anthony and Norton are very talented, but jesus does their show suck now.

I work in radio in the tri-state area, have for the last 10 yrs. The dopey and anthony thing has not gone well for anybody, however it is an improvement over diamond Dave.And they were pushed on Letterman, if you dont think so you are just in denial

I am an O&A listener by default. I get free XM in my car through a SNAFU at the dealership. I also only drive 5 miles to work each day so I cannot jutify spending money for Sirius ( particularly with the free XM). I would be ecstatic if Stern got a half terrestrial half Sirius deal and would not consider it a failure. I think that as O&A begin to get a better grasp of this concept their show will greatly improve. AS far as Howard goes, before the change to Sirius, I listened to him for 15 years, saw the movie, watched the WOR show, read the books and caught his guest appearances and pay per views. I was (and would still be) a big Stern fan. But if you don't think that what O&A got (with the half and half) bugs the hell out of Stern, you must not have listened to him very well. Plus, I think that Stern didn't understand that a lot of his listeners were guys like me (who spend a lot of time in a company vehicle who isn't going to spring for Sirius). Stern isn't getting the media publicity he used to, he isn't getting the big named celebrities he used to, and he isn't the 800 lib gorilla he used to be. That's not to say O&A are (because they are not). But to a man like Stern, ( who already had a ton of money before the Sirius deal) the exposure and relevance is what drives him. I'm sure Stern is doing a great show...much better than he did in his final years on terrestrial. But he's going to end up as a niche show and the not the driving force in media he used to be. He'll be like Arrested Development, Mr. Show, Kids in the Hall, or some other entertainment program that had a group of rabid fans but not mass market appeal. To a man who has "the Beast" (Stern, Miss America p. 251) inside him; who destroyed DeBella, who annihilated Mark and Brian, Mancow, Bubba the Love Sponge, Imus and all the other Morning Zoos.....that isn't good enough. O&A have a bigger listener base right now and are more relevant and important to the media machine. My prediction? Within five years, Stern will do a half and half show in order to destroy O&A and regain his role as King of All Media ( which O&A are not right now...but neither is STernanymore).

And you gotta love how he only sees one side of the story. He insists that O&A only sold 30,000 subscriptions when they were a $1.99/mo. add-on service. Yet, when confronted in the past week that his Sirius numbers are at the most one million, he said "how do you know? Satellite sub numbers aren't made available to the public. You're making stuff up to slam me!"

If a five year $500 million dollar contract to do radio doesn't equal scoreboard I don't know what does. Satellite radio is going to be huge. Everyone who has it raves about it. I can't imagine not having it. Howard is not the reason satellite is going to be huge but he is the reason Sirius will eventually pass XM to become the dominant provider. And that is history.

So why does he keep dropping hints that he's returning to terrestrial?He has more money than O&A put together, so what? O&A are getting press, they're on Letterman, and frankly, people are forgetting about Stern.

I've listened to both for a long time. At his best, Stern was pretty amazing. But even the most rabid fan has to admit that the best days are behind him. Truthfully, I think O&A's show is a half-notch worse since the Syndication Now days, but it's still better than Stern.

And Kidd Chris' show is better than both.

If it's not working out, why did terrestrial buy the rights to broadcast them? And why have they now been syndicated to over a dozen major markets? I can understand if you don't think they're funny, but their careers are extremely successful right now.As for the Letterman appearance, Dave brought it up. It would've been lame for them to attack Howard out of nowhere, and it would've been lame to duck any questions about it. They answered the questions, got some laughs, and the interview continued.
