he claims he's shot a pilot for a reality show about his life on the road. talking to A&E and somebody else about it. VH1 maybe, but i forget who else. not to include time in the studio, just his travelling antics. sounds horrible.

The best was Howard was going on and on about all the douchebags who are in reality shows, and he closes it with, "You have to be an ##### to be in your own reality show."Artie nervously chuckles and says, "Well, it's funny you say that, because we all know I'm an #####."And the proceeds to talk about how he shot a pilot for his own reality show.Classic self-burn.
 
artie was his typical a**hole self during and after lisa g's segment. regardless of content, the show is much better to me when he's not there due to the fact that there's one less person i hate in the studio.

Talk about striking a nerve with the truth. What doesn't he get about Dr. Drew being an "employee" of the Celebrity Rehab show and having nothing to do with the producers trying to lure him on to it? Dr. Drew saying he should be in a 6-month, legit rehab has nothing to do with that TV show trying to get him to be on a semi-real 3 week rehab that airs on VH1. I think deep down, he knows it's true. Dr. Drew has decades of experience with seeing what does and does not work. He's probably seen it hundreds of times where an addict thinks they can make their own rehab program and it never works, at least not long-term.
 
Since I don't have Sirius anymore, everytime I see that the 'Howard Stern thread' suddenly gets a lot of activity, I check it to make sure Artie hasn't died.

loved the game that failed. dunno why, but it is always funny to hear stuff flop. (and I paraphrase poorly) "no one is going to rip off this game)

and the john the stutter bit was ####### annoying, but there were some gems buried in there like (and I paraphrase poorly) "I think stuttering Crossfire has been born".

Oddly enough, this is exactly why I clicked in here....I always check up whenever I see the thread get bumped. He cant be long for this world with his habits.

Artie is off heroin and down to 255 lbs(from ~300). He has a guy who they call helicopter mike with him all the time helping him get in shape and keeping him off the drugs. Not sure how long it'll last.

I didn't hear a clear excuse but he didn't lie about being sick or anything. Apparently he called Howard (or Howard called him) over the weekend and Artie had some serious withdrawal problems. It sounded like he was on the verge of going back on some drugs and was talked off the ledge. He mentioned how it was easier before with that stuff he would take for when he had the urge, but now he's not taking anything to help get him through it.

Well he didn't bounce it in :shrug: :lmao: This not supposed to sound snobby but I don't understand how a average guy can't have a normal throwing motion, it just baffles me. I know it's because I played sports since I was 6 but it's just a throw.

I rather a short on line bounce throw. Pretty sure I can't reach 60'6" anymore because of my blown out shoulder but at least the thrwoing motion is normal :lmao:

Eh I thought Howard was a doosh for trying to call out Gary for say 40 grand instead of 40 thousand.Yeah it's used for money but to say a stadium had 40 grand in it is not so off the wall, we all knew the number :angry:

btw, first time I've really realized it since I just started listening while at Sirius...but Howard is extraordinarily ####ed up. What a nasty week from him. Even went after his shrink and his wife. Seems to me from what I've heard and what I understand that this is the way he was 10-15 years ago.

He's incredibly grouchy. Which can be good sometimes, but lately he sounds like an out-of-touch old man who's #####ing at people from his front porch.I smell a divorce coming.

Two Indisputable facts:

1. Howard Stern is one of the most shameless, brilliant self promoters in the history of entertainment. Even "bad" publicity, like having his name attached to this horrific pitch, is good publicity in his eyes. Sure he complains, but he LOVES the attention his name gets. It only reinforces his own self image and self importance that everyone is talking about this and everyone mentions his name (i.e. Howard Stern's Baba Booey threw out the first pitch...)

2. Baba Booey is so loyal, if Howard asked him to fall on his sword for anything, he'd do it.

Conclusion:

IMO, the fix is in. Howard privately asked Gary to throw as horrible a pitch as he could. Then (and Howard has already mentioned this) Howard himself would try to arrange for Gary to throw another first pitch to redeem himself.

If Gary tries this again and throws a decent/good 1st pitch, then there will be no doubt in my mind that this was all a setup.

Sort of like Jerry the King Lawler fighting with Andy Kaufman on David Letterman.

 
There is no way that was a set up. He was nervous he would bounce it short and released it waaaayyyyy early. Fa Fa Flunky will never throw another first pitch at a MLB game again.

 
Damon calling in today was pretty funny, but if I'm Johnny, I'm not commenting on anybody's throwing ability. An MLB outfielder who cant reach 2nd base on the fly shouldn't be talking.

 
My favorite line was Howard asking Artie what would be gayer -- Gary's first pitch, or Jose Reyes ####ing Gary in the ### on the pitcher's mound. :thumbup:

 
Howard: "Gary, The View just called. They want you to be their next co-host"

Artie: "Actually Gary, Barbara Walters from The View just called. She just wanted to call you a ######"

They had a fantastic call this week that I originally missed but caught on the replay today.They called a Tradio type show Swap Shop" with two women hosts, and sent in scores of e-mails with hidden names and items for sale.

"Booka-Key Sauce, it's All-Natural"

"A recipe for Blumpkin pie."

"Blumpkin...Blueberry & pumpkin? that sounds good together."

"Bathroom faucet by Golden Shower...streams warm every time."

"There is a contractor in the area that's gonna be Dropping Loads of dirt in the area."

Almost makes me think this one was fake. The timing was just perfect and i just cant believe that anyone is this dumb.
