Man, I found his show to be brutally bad.
I wasn't impressed after listening for a few days but after a week or so I started to dig it.I like how he spends nearly the whole show (2 hrs.) on a single topic on most days. He did one day on Aspen comedyfest and just talking about comedians, one day was Metal Kareoke, and a really hilarious discussion on how getting old sucks and taking his mom to see a priest/psychiatrist. Even his porn discussion was different than you'd expect from most shows.
Having seen Letterman through the years, it's interesting how he's done a full 180 from his old "fight the establishment" days. Back when he was on NBC, he was merciless in his attacks on GE. Yesterdays interview could have superimposed Letterman kneeling before a naked Les Moonves, looking up lovingly.It made for good TV, as it was clearly infuriating Stern that Dave was tweaking him "Come on Howard, the guy deserves a vacation" and "don't you think you're overreacting"...that kind of stuff. Nice "ownage" when Letterman asked Stern about taking off Fridays...and Stern says that he's taken off two Fridays this year while Letterman has had two weeks of vacation. That was pretty sweet.

Loyal Stern listener for about 16 yrs, and the show right now is BETTER than it has ever been. Some recent highlights:
-Looping of the show on Howard 100 = pure f'n genius! My radio doesnt leave the Stern channel anymore, it cant. I catch different parts of the show on my way to work, way to and from lunch and way home from work and whenever else. Love it
-They are almost doing 6 hrs of show these days. Unreal!
-Artie has been unleashed and is unbelievable on Sirius. If anybody caught him doing the Godfather scenes the other day, you caught one of the best moments in Stern show history.
-The sybian is $$$$. Savanna Sampson rode it recently and really got into it big time
-The return of Andrew Dice Clay........OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
-Cant wait for the Daniel Carver roast next week

During the news, Gary reported that George Takei is going to be in New York next week, but that he wasn’t sure if he should book him as the show’s announcer because of an already filled lineup. Gary then brought up that, to him, the biggest potential problem with having George in would be the day of the Daniel Carver roast, explaining that Evil David Letterman is already scheduled to be sitting in for the entire broadcast. Howard responded that, since everyone loves George and he’s rarely in New York, Gary should try to work things out so George can be the announcer for the full week, which Gary said he’d do*UPDATE*

If Sterno is so concerned about mental handicapped people, he could just give them money, not exploit them. Don't try to make it sound noble..... If you tell a child to flash people in the street and then pay them, does it make it right? No! I'm sure you will make light of this post, but think about it before you do.
