So how many hear caught the Artie Roast - they played it nonstop over the weekend. Thought it was hysterical - all the comics did great (I don't consider crackhead boband Mary Anne comics!)

Some great lines from the night:

Nick DiPallo on Stern - How can I pass up the chance to work for a billionaire for free!

Shuli - "I heard Beer League is opening Sept. 18?"

Artie - "No it is Sept 15"

Shuli - "Oh, the 18th must be when it closes!"

Lisa Lampenelli - "you know you made it in comedy when Dice Clay sends in a tape to your roast!"

Sal always brutal at a roast - "Artie - the only vegatable you ever loved was your dad"

"At least Dana proved she wasn't into money - the same can't be said about Beth O"

Colin Quinn killed:

"I heard Dana hurt her ankle - was it kicking you to the curb?"

"I have more jokes for Artie but I'm saving them for your wake"

 
Shuli's line was great. It was set up perfectly.

I'm going to join Rev Bob's "rotisserrerry" baseball league! I love the Rev - never saw a comedian that can not pronounce most words before!

 
Did anyone see the On Demand of the two guys that came in trying to win tickets to the roast by answering questions about Artie, and every time they answered wrong different areas of their genitals were waxed? I was :lmao: . It was hilarious.

Going back a couple days... Did they check the "twins" ID's?

While they look very similar, I think the twin act was just shtick. I could have sworn I heard one of them say "last month for her birthday" or something that didn't make sense for a twin to say.

Thanks W. Looks like it is available on Cox digital in my area! I only kept Cox's regular cable service in order to feed the 9th TV in my bottom sig.... My Directv setup only allows me to feed 8 of the TVs. It'll be worth switching over to Cox digital in order to get Howard TV.A question: So you pay $13 a month or whatever it is. It's not like NBC, for instance, where you can ONLY see what they are currently showing, right? You pretty much get to choose one of several shows which is up on any given week on Howard TV? Am I understanding it correctly?

yes, correct. I dont have it but that is how they describe it on Sirius
 
i have DTV so i can't get howard tv, but all shows are available on bittorrent within a day of release on howard tv.

That is the best part of the Stern show now - sometimes he goes an hour and a half without a break - the break is also pretty quick as well. I remember the days where I would have a 30 minute commute and not catch one minute of live show - love my Sirius!As for Howard TV - I have it and am a fan but they really need to shuffle the content to justify the monthly charge - I have had it for 3 weeks and have only seen the weekly best of shows updated.

In the "Fly Me With Balloons" song, who does the voice of Eric the Midget? Is it "Dan the song parody Man"...? That makes me :lmao: everytime I hear it.

Also the shouting match last week between Artie and Crazy Alice was priceless. :lol:

Two reasons: I used to enjoy Stern but being a fan of Opie & Anthony his "everybody copies me" and "O&A are just Howard Stern ripoffs" gets old, particularly because it's not at all true. The second was because I was trying to see if anyone (O&A fan or Stern fan) had an update about the "Walk Over" incident that happened on Friday's O&A show.

Long story short, a Stern fan interrupted O&A on their way from CBS studios to XM studios and kept saying why Stern ruled and they sucked. They allowed him to keep ripping on them but when he said "you guys suck and you just steal from Howard", Anthony replied "yeah, we steal all of his radio stations and fans." The fan had no reply, and grabbed their producer (Ben Sparks) by the throat and threw him against the wall. In an instant, O&A's security guards (a bodyguard and a former cop) wrestled the guy to the ground, made him give an embarrassing on-air apology while in a headlock, and waited for the cops to arrive.

The guy claimed that Sparks spit on him but the O&A crew said they were filming the entire thing and that never happened. The situation is still up in the air but XM didn't allow the incident to be reaired or referenced in replays that followed. Their website also didn't have an update so I figured I'd come here.

Take it easy man, it is not like I am insulting your mother or something...Just some honest feedback. I was without Sirius and gave O&A a shot. Actually, game them multiple shots, listening well beyond when I would have wanted to change it just to see if maybe I hit a flat spot. Whatever the case, they aren't for me, but I am glad you enjoy them

I think you may be a little too focused on this stuff...remember, it is just a radio program there to amuse you for a half hour a day
 
Sirius updated some channels this morning so I had no signal for 10-15 minutes. I put O&A on and thought they sucked (and I was big fans of theirs).

First of all they sounded different. Anthony didn't sound the same as he did back on 102.7.. like bass was missing from his voice (or they have worse equipment).

Second of all, all they talked about for the entire time was how their fans were smarter and would never get owned by a one liner.. blah blah blah.. "howie's camp" "their camp"....

I though Stern was the one who was supposedly obsessed with O&A, not the other way around.

And then they cut away to commercials...

Truth of the matter is.. Opie, Anthony and Stern all suck. Side kicks like Artie and Jim Norton make their respective shows great.

Norton is funnier than Artie. By miles.I can see how arguments can be made for either show, but not as far as sidekicks go.

 
I heard that O&A did a whole rant today about how Howard was a prima donna for taking off today not realizing that he was actually live.

admittedly this is just heresay, but the guy that told me this said it was a long discussion about Howard at the Hamptons, etc.

It's not all about being able to drop F-Bombs but it's a big part of it. Like Howard would say imagine Chris Rock if he couldn't use profanity.It's just nice to hear them talk the way they would in a normal conversation without having to censor themselves.

 
They really dropped the ball during Howards vacation. They should have been doing something with the old tapes, not just replaying Sirius shows.

I guess part of the settlement with CBS called for them to not replay any of the Sirius shows that railed on Moonves. The vacation replays sucked due to this because their selection was limited.

Totally hooked on Breuer though.
