How's the Packer decision to go with Rodgers looking now? (1 Viewer)

Jets 6-3

Packers 4-5
Pretty sure GB could have killed the Rams too.But look at how each have played.

The Packers would be worse than 4-5 with how Favre has played this year.
Have you seen him?Its not been good.

Or am I on glue and imagined they lost to the Raiders?

And nearly lost to the Chiefs?

He had a great game against Arizona...a good 2nd half against SD after throwing the game away in the first.

Other than that...its been pretty ugly at times.

Just about every Jets fan I have talked to says the same thing.

Unless Favre can kick a 50 yard FG or stop Adrian Peterson...I don't see their record being any better with him right now.

The Packers would have won today with Favre as the QB.

I don't think some of you have really seen him this year.

Its pretty freakin ugly.

How many INTs has he had returned for TDs this season?

What?Is he going to play LB?

Kick FGs?

Block for himself?

I haven't read any of this thread but "right now" Rodgers is a better QB than Favre. Thread over, as you were.

Cliff notes...some want to compare the Jets and Packers record and try to think anything from that...and even claim the Packers win had Favre been the QB for them today. Its pretty funny.

I think teams are now beginning to notice tendencies of Rodgers from film study. We will see how he progressing thru the end of the season but it doesn't look good.

Exactly...teams are coming in with different game plans than they did when Favre was the QB. Also, Rodgers and McCarthy admitted his decision making was poor last week against the Titans including in the redzone. The Packers probably would have won that game too if Favre was the QB.

I love statements like this. That they just would have won had he been there.Give me a break...you can't just claim that. You have no clue if Favre would have chucked another one up last week or had one returned for a TD (as he has done often this year for the Jets).

1. The Vikings would have had a different game plan if Favre was the QB.2. Favre doesn't hold the ball as long as Rodgers.

3. Favre would have hit some receivers today on passes that Rodgers missed.

4. McCarthy probably would have been less conservative if Favre was the QB.

5. Did you miss all the comments that McCarthy and Rodgers made about his play against the Titans? That game would have been won by the Packers if Favre was the QB.

I have a decent clue to know that Favre would have had better decision making in the red zone and wouldn't have had 4-5 terrible audible calls that Rodgers admitted having against the Titans.

Issue today was the O-line took most of the day off. Clifton needs to be replaced sooner than later, he was showing slippage last year and is getting worse.

Favre has been very average at best this year, but the Jets have played any easy schedule so the team record is good. Bengals,Chiefs,Bills, Raiders and Rams over the the last 5 weeks. Not a ton of competition on that schedule and their loss was to the lowly Raiders, but have struggled in most of the games. Packers are playing a tougher schedule than last year so going 13-3 even with Prince Favre would have been near impossible.

This TEAM is better now and in the future for the Packer brass willing to move on from what some fair weather fans wanted. Most of the Favre backers have become Packer fans in the last ten years and most likely could not name 10 players on the current roster.

I love statements like this.

About as easy to say that the games would have gone the same way had Favre been behind center. Favre would have had to kick a 50 yard field goal, or stopped Peterson, and they still would have lost. Those are your statements and they are funnier than others.

I think the Packers would be 9-0 with Favre and would have won the Super Bowl easily. I also think the NYJ would be 0-9. I guess this one did not work out for GB. Thread over!

1. Perhaps...why do you think it would not have worked?2. True...sometimes he just throws it up no matter who catches it, like he has done alot of this year.

3. I guess you can claim that...pure speculation...he also may have missed some that Rodgers hit.

4. Maybe.

5. His play against the Titans means they would have won today? And just because Rodgers made some bad decisions, does not mean Favre would not have made those same bad ones or others. Your claim that they just would have won is laughable.

Weird because with the way he is playing now, he's led a worse team to a winning record.*Shrug* Favre made up for a lot of holes for the Pack last year, and helped every phase of the game SAVE for his turnover issues, which he's always had.

He admitting to having some...I never saw 4-5.And again...that does not mean they would have been in the same positions in that game. The way Favre has played this year...anyone just claiming the Packers would have won some of these games is delusional.

I remember watching Favre walk on water while he was in GB. He also turned water into wine so this is no suprise to me.

Call me when the Jets play the Titans rather than the Chiefs, Bengals, Rams, and Raiders. Then actually look at how the rest of his team has played (most noteably the Jets defense which seems far more responsible for their winning than Favre does).

And while he always had turnover issues...he cut those back last year. This year, he seems back to his throw it up no matter who comes down with it ways.

Favre is playing in a different system and with all new players. Yes, he has struggled at times, but he has still made the Jets offense as a whole look much, much better. It is impossible to deny that. Rodgers have played well, for the most part, this year. The Packers being 4-5 is not his fault.

Every team in the Jets division is over .500, and they are 2-1 against those teams. :goodposting:Also, while the Jets had gimmes over the Chiefs, Bengals and Rams, the Packers had gimmes over the Lions and Seahawks.

How long has Favre been in that system now? When will it stop being an excuse? What does the system have to do with not knowing that you can't throw a lame duck up for Buffalo to INT and run back for 6?

He has played bad...bad...bad.

How long has Favre been in that system now?
A little over two months. They say it usually takes YEARS to completely learn a new system.
He has played bad...bad...bad.
At times, but overall, he has played well. He is on pace to throw 28 touchdown passes. That is bad?
28 tds...not bad...how many ints?how many of those run back for tds?ask jets fans what they think about it?
I'd guess that Jets fans are happy they are 6-3.

Rodgers did not look fantastic week 1 in a close game against the Vikes, and he certainly did not look good today, either. His best games have come against those gimme d's, so he doesn't deserve praise beyond the fact that starting him means the Pack gets a shot at a premo Jets pick if Favre leads the Jets to the playoffs. He got a lot of yards last week against the titans, but I guess that's irrelevent because he didn't cap it off with enough offense to win on the last drive when he had the ball. I guess that's kind of similar to what happened today, except worse.
