Huggins to get his shot in Tampa Sunday ? (1 Viewer)

Listening to Sirus Radio Moving the Chains and Tim Ryan was talking about the Bucs stating he spent most of the day with them. With confidence, he didn't expect Blount to see any time on Sunday, while Kareem Huggins was going to carry the rock all day. Caddy was not mentioned. If you know anything about this show, they are incredibly dialed in to what's going on in the league. I nabbed him in 4 leagues btw , the preseason hype was there and now it may come roaring back after this Sunday.

They have to do something because Caddy looks terrible so giving another RB a chance to get double-digit carries makes sense. Since they passed on giving Blount a shot they might as well see if Huggins or Graham can get the job done. They need someone to give them a spark running the ball.Anybody else think Blount may have banged Morris' wife or something? He went from being the next big thing to an afterthought in a blink. Wow.

Based on what has been coming from the team this must mean start Blount with confidence.

Or, Graham will once again be the only startable player.

I think it's painfully obvious that Caddy shouldn't get carries anymore. He may be good in the pass-blocking department though which is why he stays in there so much. I'm not a fan of Blount's by any means and I think a fast back would be a welcome relief in TB's backfield. I think Blount is a good power back, but more of a plodder. Maybe Huggins could be something there yet? I dunno...

I heard the same thing yesterday (posted on it in the Caddy/Blount/Huggins thread.) I was pretty surprised by Ryan's conviction when he said it. I'm rostering both Blount and Huggins so let's hope he's right. :goodposting:

I got both too in a few leagues.

cant finad any info on this rumor.

all i could find on rotoworld:

Though he's slated to start this week against the Bengals, Cadillac Williams acknowledges that his days as the Bucs' feature back are probably over.

"You know (the team) is looking beyond this year," said Williams. "I'm just going to prepare myself and go out there on Sunday and continue to put things on film." Caddy is averaging just 2.5 yards per carry through three games. With LeGarrette Blount seeing an increased role on early downs and Kareem Huggins working into the passing game, Williams no longer merits a roster spot in 12-team leagues.

I know but there were numerous reports the previous two weeks that Blount would get much more involved against the Bengals (which didn't happen), that he might get double-digit carries (which didn't happen) and that he would be the goal-line RB (which didn't happen). He went from being the next big thing before the Bengals game to an afterthought during it and seemingly since. That was a mighty quick fall from grace.

I saw the entire game and I'd hardly consider getting 4 spread out carries as 'getting a shot'.

If there ever was a RBBC nightmare, Tampa is it. I would be wary of spending a roster spot on one, let alone two RBs from this team. You'll be flipping a coin every week guessing who's going to get the carries. In addition to that, you obviously can't expect any help from Coach Morris, as he talked up Blount like crazy going into their bye week and it was flat-out misdirection.

Deep roster league and i have them as possible lucky shots, my starters are Gore/AP/LT, just wanted them for some youth to my squad....if nothing else i can drop them easy.

Theyre 3-1. Im starting to think Graham is the back to own
Same here - I picked up Graham today. Mostly because him and Stefan Logans were the only backs available with decent points, but I plan on starting Graham this week over Snelling, Mike Bell, and John Kuhn (I know, slim pickings).

thanks for sharing the info on this...love it when new stuff is uncovered, even if it's a rumor until proven.

I came close to adding Huggins, but then I thought, what is he getting a chance to prove? That he can handle the load or take over Caddy's share? I doubt it's the former - the coaching philosophy seems to want to share and spread things around. Happened with Derrick Ward. Happened with Earnest Graham. Happened with Blount. So, now it's probably going to happen with Huggins.

Everyone is down on Benjarvus because he shares with a boatload of people (I kept trying to trade him and got zero love...even after Fred Taylor was ruled out again). Aren't we dealing with a similar thing here?

Now, James Starks (GB) probably has a worse chance at having relevance vs. Huggins, but I'd much rather take a shot with him. If GB let Ryan Grant be their every down back, I don't see why some no name like Starks can't wrestle the job away from Brandon Jackson and John Kuhn.

Not hating Huggins...just don't think his upside is THAT big.

If by "banged", you mean "threw a right cross at her kisser", you may be absolutely correct. Seriously though, I looked at Blount's Oregon career stats (basically just 2008) and he has a very bizarre rushing stats line for that year. I will be the first to admit, I do not watch much college football at all, but it baffles me to see a guy who rushes for 1K yards and 17 Tds, to throw up a line like he did against USC (9 attempts for 0 yards) and U of CA (4 attempts for 1 yard). I realize he was splitting time with Jeremiah Johnson that year, but good RBs just get something out of those opportunities, reagrdless of the opponent.

James Starks hasn't played any real football since 2008. Do you think he has a genuine shot at picking up the offense, blocking for their franchise QB and getting his legs under him in a few weeks? Dynasty I have no problem sitting on Starks but I doubt he has much, if any impact this season.

All three backups were on my waiver, and I grabbed Blount and Huggins. My hesitation with Graham is he is obviously a key player for their offense, but was held out this week with "older legs". If the Bucs are making a push to the playoffs, it seems to me that they will want to preserve Graham and give Blount/Huggins a chance to emerge.

Both CJ and Arian had bad games this year.. They're both "Good RB's"

so, anyone actually starting him today? Seems the safest thing to do is wait until we actually see him perform on the field, but I know with bye weeks and injuries, some might give him a shot.

Have Huggins/Blount stashed on several rosters (fairly deep rosters). No way they hit my lineup until they produce.

Same. I haven't heard anyone else reporting that Huggins will be getting a lot of action today. Unless I hear that from any other sources in the next 90 minutes, they both stay benched.

I'm doing it, due to byes. My opponent isn't overly strong this week and I think I can afford the risk. Here's hoping. :banned:

Even though I traded for Huggins in a few leagues recently, what makes everyone think he would start over Graham?
You mean start over Caddy. The hype for Huggins was unjustified. The hype for Blount was unjustified. I think Blount's inactive status is going to mean more carries for Huggins but I'll believe he's replaced Caddy as the starter when I see it.

Having Caddy on your roster is unjustified :excited: He sucks in the worst way. I can't imagine having to start that bum.
