Are you playing him? I was thinking about it and saw his projected points increased after Gronkowski was ruled out.Not sure KT is worth playing with Amendola back. Only 4 targets last week.
I'm gonna hold off before I react. Last game was a real cluncker for the Pats. Brady didin't throw a TD to anyone for the first time in years. Their leading receiver only had 55 yds. Thompkins only had 3 receptions but was third on the team. Not sure KT is worth playing with Amendola back. Only 4 targets last week.
This.Apparently you guys didn't see the last game. Weather totally sucked for part of the game and sucked for most of the game.
Edelman, 7 targets, caught 2
Thompkins, 5 targets, caught 3
Amendola, 9 targets, caught 4
I'm starting KT and Amendola. Not sure KT is worth playing with Amendola back. Only 4 targets last week.
I have him on the bubble this week with Jennings and Stacy. Are you playing him? I was thinking about it and saw his projected points increased after Gronkowski was ruled out.Not sure KT is worth playing with Amendola back. Only 4 targets last week.
I can't seperate your posts from your avatar. Every time I finish reading one I find my self saying, "Well, that was a logical post"I have him on the bubble this week with Jennings and Stacy. Are you playing him? I was thinking about it and saw his projected points increased after Gronkowski was ruled out.Not sure KT is worth playing with Amendola back. Only 4 targets last week.
My team is 1-4 though, so I certainly won't cut him in a keeper. He has the talent to be a top WR for sure.
I always viewed KT as Plan B for Amendola and Gronk.I think the title of this thread is probably accurate by now. Despite the beautiful game-winning TD last week, it seems like he is behind Amendola, Eldlemen, and Dobson in the pecking order. Gronk will be back this week too.
Of course, it looks like I will be starting him due to bye/injury issues.
Dont underestimate the impacts TO Collie.tombonneau said:Just sold him in redraft. Packaged him and Mikes Austin for Cutler to Cobb owner. As a pats fan I see his value bottoming out. His value was as a RZ target which takes a hit with Gronkowski back and don't underestimate impact of Collie.
Redraft? Probably not. He's been dropped in a few leagues. Worth picking up? Him and Stills seem to be the best players on most of my waiver wires....
I agree with the part about his role as a RZ target now being diminished. I traded him a couple weeks ago.Just sold him in redraft. Packaged him and Mikes Austin for Cutler to Cobb owner. As a pats fan I see his value bottoming out. His value was as a RZ target which takes a hit with Gronkowski back and don't underestimate impact of Collie.
I don't have the stats, but it really seems like his snap counts have gone down while Dobson has taken a bigger role. With Brady reverting to a rookie/backup level QB play and only looking at Gronk on every down, Thompkins has taken a huge hit.
No they are on the field practically the same amount of time, they share the field and rotate the same spot. Dobson has edged ahead in targets over the last couple of games but in that same time has dropped more balls than he should have and as per usual were significant drops.I don't have the stats, but it really seems like his snap counts have gone down while Dobson has taken a bigger role. With Brady reverting to a rookie/backup level QB play and only looking at Gronk on every down, Thompkins has taken a huge hit.
That is kind of my point. Earlier in the season Thompkins was on the field more than Dobson and any other receiver for NE.No they are on the field practically the same amount of time, they share the field and rotate the same spot. Dobson has edged ahead in targets over the last couple of games but in that same time has dropped more balls than he should have and as per usual were significant drops.I think Thompkins and Dobsons value will both increase but it will require a more stable offense, the sooner Edelman is out of the main unit and Amendola and Gronk are playing every week their should be less pressure. The rookies are still improving even if it looks like a bunch of lateral movement.I don't have the stats, but it really seems like his snap counts have gone down while Dobson has taken a bigger role. With Brady reverting to a rookie/backup level QB play and only looking at Gronk on every down, Thompkins has taken a huge hit.
Dobson didn't play in week 1, Kenbrell got targets stacked upon targets - failing to convert on most of them. Dobson played in week 2, and the role flipped, and Dobson had a ton of targets (while KT was still playing) - Dobson also struggled to convert most of them. They have since played virtually the same amount to within a similar degree of one another. That is kind of my point. Earlier in the season Thompkins was on the field more than Dobson and any other receiver for NE.No they are on the field practically the same amount of time, they share the field and rotate the same spot. Kenbrell Thompkins was held without a catch in the Patriots' Week 8 win over the Dolphins.
Thompkins was a non-factor against Miami as Aaron Dobson handled the vast majority of New England's X receiver snaps. With Danny Amendola back healthy, it appears Thompkins has been deemed the odd man out of the Patriots' three-wide sets. He's just a WR4/5 stash in re-draft leagues at this point. Thompkins' midseason pace stats don't matter when he isn't getting any playing time.
Kenbrell Thompkins played on just 14-of-65 snaps (21.3 percent) in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.
It's a season-low in snaps for Thompkins, as he had no catches and played far behind Aaron Dobson (50 snaps) for the second time in three weeks. His role as the every-down X receiver has been lost. And with Danny Amendola/Rob Gronkowski healthy, there aren't as many targets to go around. Thompkins can be dropped in shallow fantasy formats.

Yeah, I should have hopped off the train while it was still moving a few weeks ago. Instead the train's stopped, and I was gently helped off to the pavement and told to "Have a nice day."The dream is over. :( Dropping him for RB depth.
It was a good run for a few games.
Dobson looks to be much more fluid running routes, and seems to do a great job of getting open. He just can't seem to catch the ball consistently. If he ever does, he could be a very solid player.I've dropped him in both of my leagues. Talent is there, but he didn't take advantage of it before Dobson got healthy. Still not sure what they see in Dobson and Collie to give them more chances.
I think Dobson gives them that big play threat from the outside. He has more upside and I think they are doing the right thing.I've dropped him in both of my leagues. Talent is there, but he didn't take advantage of it before Dobson got healthy. Still not sure what they see in Dobson and Collie to give them more chances.
Had Sanchez never been hurt, would there be a Jets receiver with better stats this than KT this year? We will never know.
None of the Jet WRs stayed healthy either - on top of the fact that they are all average talents, at best, of course. Well, maybe Holmes is abover average - but that dude is the tin man.Had Sanchez never been hurt, would there be a Jets receiver with better stats this than KT this year? We will never know.
I happen to view Kerley as an above average possession receiver and I think with a decent QB has the potential of becoming a solid flex starter in PPR leagues.Dr. Octopus said:None of the Jet WRs stayed healthy either - on top of the fact that they are all average talents, at best, of course. It was a battle of attrition and mediocrity in the first place, so who cares?
The Boston Globe reports that "it looks like" Josh Boyce and Kenbrell Thompkins may be competing for the No. 5 receiver spot in 2014.
The Patriots appear set one through four with Julian Edelman, Aaron Dobson, Danny Amendola, and Brandon LaFell. Boyce and Thompkins combined to catch 41 passes for 587 yards and four touchdowns as rookies, with Thompkins doing the vast majority of that damage. New England also still has its eyes on veteran wideouts. After the passing game struggled for stretches in 2013, the Patriots are looking to stockpile at receiver and create competition.
