I am starting Selvin Young Over ___________ (1 Viewer)

FBG has Selvin ranked quite aggressively this week. The Monday nite game makes it a gutsy move.

I am starting Selvin OVER C. Benson.

This is a foolish move...and I own Young. He's not even the projected starter. You can't run under the assumption Henry will end up getting hurt during the game...

I want to start him over Kevin Jones. However, Jones is starting and Young isn't.

Travis Henry. I don't have a choice. I have start one of them and Young has shown me more. Hopefully Henry won't go.

...over KeWatson, CHenry (TEN, RB), DeS Foster, DeA Williams, TJones, SSmith (flex spot)..

BUT I might stuff CHenry or CBrown in there depending on what's happening Monday.

I was starting Selvin over MoMo and Travis Henry, but I've changed my mind and I'm going with Morris.

Projected by whom? Henry didn't practice on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday (using a knee brace for a torn PCL that he said he wouldn't wear in a game), couldn't practice on Friday b/c of his appeal hearing, and no word has come out about the light practice Denver was holding on Saturday night. He is listed as questionable, which (by NFL definition) means there is only a 50% chance he will play. To me, that doesn't say "projected starter." Right now, I have Young penciled in as my flex over Henry, Graham, and Isaac Bruce. If word comes out that Henry practiced fully on Saturday night, and looked great, I might bench Young and go with Graham, but based on reports out of Denver and Tennessee this week, it looks like Henry might not go, and Haynesworth might not go, and IMO that makes Young a good start, especially considering how he did last week against a pretty good KC run defense.

He hasn't been declared out. Until he is, he's the starter. That's simple logic.

If not for the part that I have bolded, he would be in my lineup right now. Last week I threw him in at the last minute as soon as I read that Henry was not playing and it worked out nicely. But unless I hear it for sure, I would rather have sure points than possible points. Simple as that for me.

Starting Selvin over Benson (he blows, BTW)... Freddy T, Driver and Bowe.

Young will play well, and he'll be GREAT if Fat Albert is out.

So going by your simple logic, Marshawn Lynch is the starter at RB for the Bills tomorrow? He hasn't been declared out, although he hasn't practiced at all this week so he's still the starter tomorrow, right? Would you like to make a bet that he doesn't start the game tomorrow? I didn't think so.

You can't be as simple as you are being. Look at ALL of the facts, not just what a depth chart says. Henry could not play last week because of a knee injury that turned out to be a torn PCL. He hasn't been able to practice fully; and the day he was able to practice in a limited fashion was while wearing a brace that he vowed not to wear in a game. On top of that, he has only played a little more than 1/2 of football the last 3 weeks because of injuries. He missed week 8 with hurt ribs, played 2 and 1/2 quarters in week 9, where he tore his PCL, and was unable to go in week 10. HE IS NOT HEALTHY. But you want to continue to call him the starter, because Shanahan hasn't come out and said, "Henry isn't the starter this week." If you think that another player will put up better numbers than Young, than by all means, start that player. But if you refuse to start Young because he hasn't been named the starter, you could very well lose points by playing it safe.

If I play it safe, I have points. If I take a risk, I could easily get a very few points or zero. I need to win this week. Why start someone who isn't for sure starting when I have a RB who is? I'd love to start Young since he's facing Tennessee that is most likely going to be missing Haynesworth (again, not for sure). Instead, I'm stuck with Kevin Jones.

Over Benson the terrible and Henry.

Even if Henry plays he won't play much. This guy is a train wreck.

I'm starting young with confidence.

I thought this was an I AM starting Selvin Young over ........thread. Seems like your not sure yet.Besides that, Graham has a really juicy match up against a weak ATL run defense. I'd rather go with that.

Young owner here as well. Denver Post reported today that Henry will likely be activated. No sure thing but the guy sounds like he's going to strap it on despite the injury. Sounds like some game checks or incentives might be on the line.

My other choice is Chatman. FBG (like no other site out there) loves Chatman. I think I'm going to go with the guy who's the starter. I may regret it.

I think this decision will cost you points. Kevin Jones and the lions had -18 rushing yards last week. The guy's foot is not right and "starter" or not when a coach says that they need to get TJ Duckett more involved that says something about the starter because TJ stinks.I'm starting Young over Kenny Watson, Travis Henry, Brandon Marshall, and Kevin Curtis. Not quite as tough of a desicion as a few of the others in this thread. My guess is that it will look as if Henry will be active, but at the last minute he won't suit up (Sort of Shanny's way to keep the Titans guessing) since Henry and Young don't play special teams. Worst case scenario, IMHO, is that Henry is the "starter" and they get equal carries. In this scenario Young still outscores Henry.

Fred Taylor.....maybe

My other RB's

Portis (start)

LJ (inj), ADP (inj).

So it boils down to RBBC Fred vs. up-and-down SD defense

or

Selvin Young @ TEN (potentially w/o Haynesworth, which apparently made a big difference last week).

My gut says that Henry may try and play on Monday, but won't be-able to, or won't last long.

I have S.Young penciled in as of now.

:scared: you're responding to one of Henry's 9 Baby-Mamma's who want his gameday paycheck..
