They certainly have not failed in this regard. The best part about Bond movies is the first rate hotties. A good story is just bonus.
the broad from The Man with the Golden Gun who runs around in a bikini the whole time and "Plenty O'Toole" are my personal favorites. The best part about Bond movies is the first rate hotties. A good story is just bonus.

James Bond will return in Live and Let Die![]()
It's inexplicably my favorite of the jokey 007s. It's beyond ridiculous from beginning to end but it's ridiculously entertaining throughout.James Bond will return in Live and Let Die![]()
Ugh the wiki plot summary for this one sounds horrible.
Live and Let Die was released during the height of the blaxploitation era, and many blaxploitation archetypes and clichés are depicted in the film, including derogatory racial epithets ("honky"), black gangsters, and "pimpmobiles".
I am about to embark on this voyage. I am keeping an open mind. This thread is teaching me that I'm way in the minority by liking Roger Moore.
I enjoyed all but the last Roger Moore one. They are entertaining and I loved going to watch them in the theater growing up. The stunts, gadgets, and dialogue go over the top quite a few times, but they are fun none the less. This thread is teaching me that I'm way in the minority by liking Roger Moore.
It did introduce Sheriff J.W. Pepper and had a good boat chase.Live and Let Die is the bottom of the trench. It only goes up from there.
You take that back or I'll make you swallow a compressed air pelletLive and Let Die is the bottom of the trench. It only goes up from there.
It almost makes up for her later years as a shill for Kay Jewelers.Live and Let Die features a 21 year old Jane Seymour. ?
i love it as well. It's inexplicably my favorite of the jokey 007s. It's beyond ridiculous from beginning to end but it's ridiculously entertaining throughout.James Bond will return in Live and Let Die![]()

Also the best theme song, IMO (GnR's execrable cover notwithstanding)Live and Let Die features a 21 year old Jane Seymour.
It is far from the bottom of the trench.
I celebrate her entire catalog. It almost makes up for her later years as a shill for Kay Jewelers.Live and Let Die features a 21 year old Jane Seymour.
Hey, what were they like anyway? They looked pretty good, are they real? Are they built for speed or comfort? What'd you do with them? Motorboat? You play the motorboat?I celebrate her entire catalog. It almost makes up for her later years as a shill for Kay Jewelers.Live and Let Die features a 21 year old Jane Seymour.![]()
True... his movies were mostly highly successful... it's just that the 70's style really doesn't hold up as well... I think that's why people watching in the modern era of "tough, gritty" movies think they suck. This thread is teaching me that I'm way in the minority by liking Roger Moore.
His signature move was a karate chop with a surprised face.True... his movies were mostly highly successful... it's just that the 70's style really doesn't hold up as well... Admittedly Moore is the least "tough" Bond
The Bond people saw "Shaft" and figured this was a golden opportunityLive and Let Die was released during the height of the blaxploitation era, and many blaxploitation archetypes and clichés are depicted in the film, including derogatory racial epithets ("honky"), black gangsters, and "pimpmobiles".oh God
A young Yaphet Kotto is a pretty solid villain although he's overshadowed a bit by his stellar set of henchmen.Mr. Big![]()
Still my favorite Moore scene: Karate guy comes at him flashing his pre-attack routine. Moore pulls out a gun and shoots him dead.
They also saw Bruce Lee films as you'll soon discover.
I know a lot of you guys like him but many of the Moore films were pretty bad.
Moore gets criticized a lot for being soft but I suspect the body count in his films is just as high as the other Bonds.Leroy Hoard said:Still my favorite Moore scene: Karate guy comes at him flashing his pre-attack routine.
