It's funny that Haley wins one game and suddenly he's got this perfect plan that can't be questioned.
It's just as funny that a coach doesn't do what their fantasy owners want, and because of that the coach is viewed as an idiot.
why do people keep saying people with him on the fantasy roster???? this has nothing to do with that... its about winning games, giving you the best chance to win games... do you think the titans want CJ to get 25-30 touches or 10-15 and ringer 10-15.....???? what gives them better chance to win.. ringer 5-10 and cj 20-30 i think that is more reasonable... All im saying is Charles 15-25 touches and tjones 8-13 touches woudl be reasonable... run charles on them first down and second downs more... to many 3 and outs with Tjones..everyone always points to tjones 1400 yards but look how many carries it took to reach that 335? he avg barely over 4 ypc.... he is an avg back with tons of miles... charles has low miles and avoids big hits... he is a super well conditioned athlete and I think they are underutilizing him... there are thousands of excuses why or whatever bottom line is Get Jamaal the ball
I am also a Charles owner and want nothing more than to have Jones get about 5 carries a game and Charles the rest. But in real life NFL terms - and unfortunately for us Charles owners - limiting his workload is probably best for both Charles and the Chiefs.

It saves the wear and tear on Charles, who relies on his explosiveness on every carry. Run him around 20+ times a game, including up the gut into the

defensive wall, and it will probably take its toll on his explosiveness over time.

We may look at Jones' stats and say why is he getting the ball at around 3 yards a carry? But if Jones is converting first downs on many of those carries, then I'm sure Haley doesn't care what his stats show. And if he can complement Jones with Charles' ability to break the big one, that is what he is looking for in his offense.

Again, sucks for us fantasy owners, but it makes a lot of sense in controlling the clock and trying to keep drives going.
Sorry to break it to you pal but your post contradicts itself and doesn't make any sense... First of all Jones didn't convert any first downs so your logic as to why haley was playing him is false. second if you are gonna sit there and say 20 carries is to much for him when he played the last 9 games of the season and avg over 20 carries a game and destroyed teams.... he was real worn down as he ran for 259 against a hungry denver team with 9 min to spare in the fourth... your logic makes no sense. maybe if we were talking 35-40 carries then I could see your point but Charles can run 20 times a game no problem do you see the guys conditioning.... Him and CJ are clones and how many carries does CJ get a game 22 is what he avg last year and started with 27 this year. they are spitten images of each other i have been saying this for 3years now and some dont want to listen

This isn't even close. I compare it to the Felix Jones situation. Sometimes teams get so enthralled with packages they forget who their best players are. It makes you wonder what these guys are smoking, LOL. It simply doesn't make sense. Like I've said many times, NFL coaches are a stubborn lot.I'm not saying you can't give RBs like Thomas Jones & Barber a role, but for every touch Charles & Felix don't get, you lose a chance at a homerun. And both of the latter RBs are much more than homerun hitters. They can help your offense put points on the board...& that's what it's all about.Charles & Felix will eventually be FF monsters, but you may have to be patient. Great dynasty stock if you don't have to pay an arm & a leg.

Calmer than you are.
:wall: Exactly.

T&T, one more try. We try to keep the over the top chest pounding to a minimum here. Try the FFA if you're into that.

If you want to discuss football and do it with a minimum of shtick, we do that here. Some (many?) will think we're boring. We're ok with that. Thanks.

Sorry joe just having a little fun.. I joined this site to have fun and talk football. It seems like no one wants to debate they have their own click and thats it no one else has good information. Im not swearing on here and Im very calm. Lets just have a good discussion. Obviously im here to discuss weiss/charles/tjones and how ineffective and stupid their play calling was... I was getting tons of flack thrown at me why am I always the bad guy JOE? whats goin on there? anyways not here to chest pound in any way shape or form here to talk football

:lmao: at the 11 Thomas Jones owners who voted for him. Priceless.
Half of them voted for him for shtick purposes, and the other half voted for both choices because they could.
Both choices is the correct answer.
how can both be right... do you have two left feet... their is only one right answer guy and thats JC
Using two backs is more likely to put the Chiefs in a position to win than giving Charles all the touches.

How do you figure? jones avg 3.4 ypc and charles 8.4.... Im not saying run charles every play but give him 20-25 touches which means running and receiving and give jones 8 carries 2-3 catches and that offense will be much more potent. They will convert more 3rd down plays and may have less 3rd down plays to begin with because charles could have plenty of 10+yards on first down as opposed to Tjones floundering for 2 yards on 2 carries. I took an option day off work tuesday so I could really watch the chiefs and see what they were trying to do. Anyone who watched every second of the game like me knows how badly charles was underutilized. He didn't come out til the first quarter was almost over. Then he started drive in the third to kickoff second half then Jones was used on almost every series early-mid 3 and early 4th. charles got like one or two drives after the first one and they only ran him on 3rd long and horrible plays... not only the underutilization of charles but also crappy sloppy calls like not getting mccluster more involved on the offense was another mistake. the chiefs had like 2-3 drives stalled early because of lousy running, blocking and ineffective passing by Cassell, albeit he was faced with 3rd and 8-9 every third down, which aren't easy conversions... thing is Charles is an absolute monster and they need to stop babying him.. Maybe haley is in love and doesn't want to see him get hurt... maybe thats it I can't figure it out

I cannot overplay the conditions combined with the score, I just can’t overplay it. If you look at anything else, you could see things unclear. Every time the ball was handed off I was holding my breath, handing off. Normally you don’t think that way. I know I don’t think that way. It went from being humid to wet, the conditions were ripe for the ball being on the ground.
Translation: give to the rock-solid veteran who carried the ball 331 times last year and didn't lose a SINGLE FUMBLE (!); a guy who's lost ONE fumble in THREE YEARS!

Not the guy who lost 3 fumbles in 190 carries last year, and 2 fumbles the year before in only 67 carries.

In ridiculous weather, give it to the guy who fumbles once every 51.4 carries, or the guy who last lost a fumble on September 22nd...2008! Almost 600 carries since the guy last put the ball on the ground and gave it to the other team.

Wake up and smell the coffee, folks. Winning games > padding stats. Jamaal Charles is going to get the ball a LOT going forward. As long as it's not a monsoon!

Once the Chefs get out of contention, which will be by week 6 or so, then Charles will get his since there is no point giving carries to a player who may be cut after this season when they keep seeing his 3 yards and a cloud of dust production

If you're relying on that, sell high. They have Cleveland this week and then San Fran at Arrowhead in W3. After a bye they do have Houston and Indy, but return home for Buffalo and Jacksonville.

It's entirely possible they're 5-2. I'd be floored if they're not at LEAST 3-4, which isn't out of much in the AFC West, especially with a 1-0 division record.
