As good as the Lions have been through three weeks. Jeff Backus is a hugh liability! Quite frankly the Lions will be lucky if Stafford doesn't get nailed one too many times. So do the Lions make a trade mid season to help out the O Line? Do they target someone like D'Brickashaw Ferguson in Free Agency next off season? Or do they use the draft to try and get better along that line?

Let's be fair here; at least Backus plays the whole game. The right tackle is playing even worse, and got benched after a couple series the last few weeks. So he's got that going for him.

I think given they have tolerated - and rewarded - his poor technique for 11 years, this line is your 2011 offensive line. No change, do what you can with the group you have. If it means leaving Brandon or Heller in, whatevs. Run quick hitters or roll him out. It is what it is.

Next year, who knows, no idea who will be available yet. We might be picking 20-something, so maybe trade up if their is a game changer in the draft. But hell, man, let's just get through month one, eh?

I cant wait to see Ware get after Stafford this week.

The Lions defensive line better keep it clean and stop at the whistle this weekend or Stafford's going to get pummeled.

I'm a Packers fan. I'm not worried about much. But having watched plenty of Lions football, the best way to cover Calvin is to play physical on defense. And get as many hits on Stafford as you can. Calvin isn't really coverable.

The Lions coaching staff is showing confidence in Backus and are deflecting any blame away from our offensive tackles. That said, I am pretty sure Leonard Davis is still out there, but I am guessing he is looking for about $5 million to sign, which the Lions don't have cap space for, and is probably about twice what he is really worth.

...and I'm guessing 5m is why he has not signed anywhere. He aint worth that, and neither is Backus.

Schwartz would have a big problem if Stafford got pummeled by the lions d-line. I'm pretty sure stafford wears a red shirt during practice.

With Fairley possibly seeing some action this week, I kind of doubt too many teams want to play ### for tat with the Lions, even the Cowboys.

FTR, Ferguson signed a contract extension w/the Jets over a year ago.

Goodness I hope not, if things get personal Romo and Stafford could both be dead by halftime.
Lions Backups are better!
