Few months ago started listening to EDM. Some of it is great, some of it is crap. Usually middle of the night at work after bar close I'll start it up. Lots of great videos on you tube/concerts. Ultra music festival and Tomorrowland have great videos. Personal favorite is Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike (check Tomorrowland 2014) and Hardwell (I believe he does some stuff on XM radio too XM52.

Other top guys, Armin Van Buuren, Martin Garrix,Tiesto, Nicky Romero, Skillex, Steve Aoki, Alesso, Guetta, Harris.

pretty interesting article.

I've never been and never plan to goto a festival at my advancing age.

But it looks pretty awesome... I bet many of these new monster clubs in Vegas are pretty fun also.

I just listen to the electronic stations on XM - BPM/Chill and a few podcasts - Tiesto's club life, Gareth Emery, Monstercat

Good stuff... I just really like music with very few words... it's easy to relax to... I don't like to think much when listening to music.

EDM isn't the same thing as NO/PSB/DM/etc....

There are a couple views of what EDM itself is.... some feel it's an overall term for any electronic dance music. Others feel it's a specific sub-genre of electronic music to describe the mega-club / mega-star DJs that tend to be fairly homogenous and commercial in style.

That said... agree that a lot of the older pre-cursor stuff was fantastic music.

I always thought freestyle was a precursor to EDM
