I think Eli Manning just retired (1 Viewer)

Regardless, neither camp should be upset at somebody liking the other one because they're the two best young QBs in the league. People need to get over themselves when somebody doesn't favor their guy, especially when it's really close like Dak/Wentz.

As far as Eli, he needs to sit & Webb needs to play. I get it's not politically correct, but it's the right decision by a mile, IMO.
1) This year Dak is pretty clearly fourth in that category, behind Wentz, Goff, and Watson.

2) Webb is not a starting-caliber NFL QB. Coaches see these guys every day, they don't need to see him fail in a real game to know that.

He's now the starter again..will it be enough?
What options might be available? I'm not sure there would be very many options for a starting job for Eli. I know many suggested Denver and they are a mess but I assume there will be a lot of changes with the coaching and front office and I'm not sure they have seen enough of Paxton Lynch to move on yet. Is Eli really that much of an upgrade? I don't think Eli would want to go somewhere else and just keep the seat warm for a young QB so it would have to probably be a playoff type team that needs a starting QB to put them over the edge to be a good fit. I don't see a lot of teams fitting that.

Denver’s window is closing. I don’t see them flailing through another year at QB like they did this season. I suspect they’ll sign a veteran - Eli is a possibility, as are Cousins, Smith and Taylor.

We need to see a lot more of Watson before he can legitimately be in the conversation.

Also, you can't rank QBs by stats & their W/L record. NFL players should be ranked with the parameters I gave, not with consideration given to their situation. That's for FF.

As far as Webb, the Giants had him ranked way higher than where they got him. You have no idea if he's a legitimate prospect. I don't either, but given where they took Webb & what they thought of him, he should play in this lost season with Eli playing sub-standard. And it's not like it's going to get any better given his age.

They need to rebuild & Eli shouldn't be in their plans. Sit him, trade him, move on. Period. The Giants don't owe him starts, especially the way he's played.
