I tried Chipotle for the first time today. It sucked. (1 Viewer)

The Busy The Tired

Oh my god, I didn't know it was possible to screw up Mexican food so badly. That was their best attempt at a Steak Burrito? That cost close to nine-dollars? That was a joke.

I didn't even finish. My throats feels like it has been violated.

Your back end will feel violated soon and after this thread it will be for more reasons than just the burrito.

Welcome to America.  Where are you from? The FFA awaits.

Had potential, but inuries may have ruined what could have been a promising career.  That food poisoning case was especially tough, just as he was starting to break out.

I can see an argument for a dynasty hold, but definitely cutable in redraft...is there a narrative where Chip can at least turn into a high volume/opportunity play?  Worked for Taco Bell.

Start off by understanding that it isn't Mexican food, it's Americanized-Mexican fast food. If you take it at that, it is fine for what it is. As others have said, the bowls are better.

Compared to a McD or BK, it is significantly better food.

YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH !

(though it would be better if they offered queso (HT to tlef))

If it took you this long you're obviously a rube with no palate. Stick to ham and eggs at the truck stop, don't need guys like you at chipotle spending ten minutes mystified by the salsa selection

I had Chipotle for the first time last winter and thought it was delicious. I mean, it was no Taco John's but at least it was much better than that Qdoba crap.

It's all just salt filled tubes of shizzy meat and second hand salt filled veggies.

It's fast food. Duh?

fast food that's fooled every 'tard into parking the car, walking In and waiting in a line. To order a pile of shiz that costs <$9

Wtf were you expecting?

It you want good Mexican food, then go get it.

It's pricy, but the quality is way better than other Mexican chains (or fast food chains in general, for that matter).

I can't tell the difference between Qdoba or Chipotle.  They're both fine to me.

Well sure, they're both fine in an "at least I'm not eating hog snout" kind of way. But I still choose to be indignant in the same way that people can claim to love Coke and hate Pepsi, despite them being almost identical beverages.

You trying to start a war here or something fellow?  We've got enough going on with the Chinese at the moment.

this.

McD is to hamburger as Chipotle is to mexican food.

ftr, I grew up in the SF area eating burritos (fart scare small animal) and moved to NYC in the 80s where, in spite of a lot of mexicans, not a lot of mexican food the way I was used to in SF- and no burritos. a few waves of burrito arrivals came and went awfully and it's finally settled into some ok stuff- not great. IMO, chipotle is a step below those places, but is fine. and discussion of "over-rated"... doesn't it have to be "rated" first? is somebody rating this place as the end all?

how are you guys managing to spend 9 dollars on a burrito from chipotle?  a chicken burrito is $6.50 every time I go there.  I also disagree with whoever said it was enough to feed 2.  I often find myself hungry a couple hours later after having one of their burritos.  they're deceptively unfilling.

I had no idea it was possible to screw up chipotle, yet here we are.
