Ice Cream Thread (1 Viewer)

My go to is a chocolate/peanut butter combo of some sort.

When I really want to go all out, I will have two scoops of salted caramel ice cream on top of warmed apple cobbler crisp. Heaven in a bowl.

If you have a Carvel's near you they are offering up some good treats today and for a good cause.

Clear your calendar: On Thursday, April 30, Carvel, the decades-old dessert chain, will dole out free ice cream from 3 to 8 p.m., offering junior-size cones and cups of vanilla, chocolate, and the limited-edition Nutella soft-serve flavors. The sweet deal also includes an optional $2 coupon book that offers about $20 in savings on Carvel treats, the proceeds from which will benefit the American Red Cross disaster relief efforts.

Carvel is known for its colorful and campy ice-cream cakes (God, we love a Fudgie the Whale), but the company has been serving cups and cones from scoops shops across the country since first opening in 1934. Nutella came into stores last summer, and offers desserts like thick shakes and layered sundaes with the stuff—but sadly the flavor will only available until May 31, which means you'll need to get your licks in sooner than later.
I have had the Nutella kind and if you're a fan of the spread this is a must try.

A good chocolate peanut butter ice cream in a pretzel cone is out of this world.
Yep. Right now, Oberweis is making one of the better PB& choc ice creams.

I had a case of food poisoning this last Saturday and had the ####s all day. Around 10 o'clock after nothing sounding good to eat all day, one beautiful thing came to mind that sounded awesome - baskin Robbins daiquiri ice in a sugar cone. Man it did the trick, immediately felt better. I didn't have any cash and didn't want to put $3 on my debit card so I bought a half gallon of their rocky road too and have been eating on that all week. Good stuff too.

Not much can top an Ice Cream cake with the chocolate crunchies inside.Carvel and DQ both sell very good ones.

Ben and Jerry's had 2 flavors that I loved (both now discontinued);

Fossil Fuel

Imagine Whirled Peace

I also love Baskin-Robbins Chocolate Mousse.

You can't have enough chocolate and getting chocolate ice cream with chocolate fudge is always the right answer for me.

We need to have another thread for more current Ben and Jerry's political flavor names.

Billary's Benghazi Bubblegum Burst

Marco Rootbeer-O Float

Sarah Pralines N Cream

Bruce Jenner's Tuna N Nuts

I was never a peanut butter guy, but the last year I can't get enough of it with chocolate. Mint-chip too has happened later in life.

Ben & Jerry's:

Coffee heathbar crunch

Chunky Monkey

Talenti (gelato)

Chocolate peanut butter cup

sea salt caramel (with chunks of chocolate)

Never was much for peanut butter ice cream but I'm just wrapping up a 2 quart peanut butter chocolate that's hard to stop. Discovered Sam's Choice recently and those are some real good flavors.

There's a local ice cream shop, uses all local and simple ingredients. They have some creative flavors and I've killed some pints like cannoli, honey and lavender, dark Italian coffee, tres leches, ginger snap, cinnamon and dark chocolate, blueberry pie with graham cracker crust chunks, etc. it is really a hidden little gem.
Sounds awesome.  I watch the food channel way too much and see all of these kinds of shops and want one in my area.

ETA:  At least Blue Bell is BACK baby!!
