Hey guys. I am playing in my first FF league ever this year and it is an IDP league (12 teams). I have a couple of questions I'm hoping you can help me with. Our league starts 3 IDP's. 1 DB, 1 DL (which can include LB's) and one flex spot that can be any IDP. Scoring is as follows:Tackle Solo (1)Tackle Assist (.5)Sack (1)Interception (3)Fumble Force (1)Fumble Recovery (2)Touchdown (6)Safety (2)Pass Defended (1)Block Kick (2) - also -Return Yards (20 yards per point)Return Touchdowns (6)I currently have:Jonathan VilmaLondon FletcherTroy PolamaluTerrence McGee (remember, returns count)Our waiver wire still has quite a few good players available, such as:Mike PetersonZach ThomasJulian PetersonJamie SharperNick BarnettAntonio PierceDan MorganKieth BrookingAndra DavisDunta RobinsonCharles WoodsonPhillip BuchanonAdam ArchuletaAntoine Windfieldetc. So, my question is obvious I'm sure. Would you swap out any of my current player for anyone on the waiver wire? Thanks! :football:

Dunta Robinson

Charles Woodson

Phillip Buchanon

Adam Archuleta

Antoine Windfield

So, my question is obvious I'm sure. Would you swap out any of my current player for anyone on the waiver wire?

First off your def scoring is junk. 1 pt for tackle, FF, sack, PD, yet 2 points for F Rec?? Recovering a fumble is being in the right place at the right time; forcing the fumble should be 3 points, sacks should be worth at least 2, fumble recover..w/e givem 2 pts. Those numbers are "whack". Anyways LB's are looking pretty good so Id go after Pierce or Peterson. Mybe drop Fletcher? Not a huge move up but I think Pierce has more value than Fletcher

Yeah, I thought the scoring was a little odd as well. Which Peterson do you mean? Thanks.

Mike, sorry

hey, i will reply.from what i have seen, the ratio of sacks to tackles is only 2:1, so the league favors tackles. i would not mess with starting any DL.here are my thoughts on the various players. i will also mention that i am in a 12 team IDP league (have been for quite a while) that starts 6 players. our points are higher, but similar ratios. currently have:Jonathan Vilma -- developing studLondon Fletcher -- i think he is a steady, underrated performer...but at the same time, he has 2-3 big games a year that make his average seem a few spots higher than he performs on a weekly basis.Troy Polamalu -- another devloping stud. Terrence McGee (remember, returns count) -- be wary of rookie/first year starting corner backs. they just aren't reliable. INTs, TDs, etc are FLUKE plays. focus on tackles. Our waiver wire still has quite a few good players available, such as:Mike Peterson: he's a #2 LB in my league that starts 24 (ie rankes 13-24 range)Zach Thomas: worry what saban's new defense will due to the numbers of this old stud.Julian Peterson: don't drink the cool aide. OLB in 3-4 defenses are not reliable scorers.Jamie Sharper: playing the SLB spot in a 4-3, not an historically strong position. he is above average talent, but high numbers last year due to position in houstons 3-4Nick Barnett: he wears down as the season progresses.Antonio Pierce: i thought his numbers would drop after FA move, but looked good in first game with gints. possible upgrade to fletcher.Dan Morgan: has health issues. his first game this year was dud, but his per game averages last year were WOW.Kieth Brooking: he was stud as MLB, but i think at WLB is is merely above average and living off rep.Andra Davis: has gone downhill with injury after looking solid in 2002.Dunta Robinson: he was good as a first year starter last year. find a rookie/first year starter at corner this year.Charles Woodson: CB are not consistent. ronde barber is the only excetion.Phillip Buchanon: no, no, no.Adam Archuleta: afraid he is living off rep. was a stud, but injuries have slowed down.Antoine Windfield: ok, he is one of the better tackling veteran CB, but its still better to find a SS.So, my question is obvious I'm sure. Would you swap out any of my current player for anyone on the waiver wire?since you only have to start one DB, i might consider having piecre replace mcgahee....watch morgan though.

I'm also seeing alot about Gibril Wilson. He is available. Would he be better than anyone I already have?

Hey guys, Madieu Williams just became available. Would you take him over anyone I already have? Also, I just noticed that Ian Gold is still available. What are your thoughts on him?

I say, drop McGee for Madieu. But I would start 3 LBs and Troy. I would pick up Pierce and if you have room on your bench, Madieu. CBs are too unpredictable week to week, with the exception of maybe Ronde Barber. I have Fletcher on most of my teams, and I know that he will provide steady, unspectacular numbers week to week.
