Favre already retired as a Packer! As a Packer fan I could care less, I never understood the importantance of doing this.

Only if they name him the starter, he won't retire as a backup

Yes...

he'll sign a one day contract, then say he changed his mind and wants a full contract, then will cause a ton of aggravation and disruption for the organization, then will be caught on tape phoning the Bears and Vikings providing detailed info on how to beat the Packers, but amazingly will still be defended and revered by a certain percentage of Green Bay Brett Favre fans.

Correct because there is a BIG difference between the two.

If he doesn't, and both sides are still bitter I wonder if Favre will speculate out loud whether he should go into the Hall of Fame as a Jet. Sounds silly, but if there are hurt feelings years from now anything is possible.

Go into the HOF as a Jet? Is this even relevant? It's not like his bust is wearing a helmet or something.

wow..actually shocked as to the responses.. i myself.. am a huge steelers nut...but, living in GB area... and looking at what favre did for GB and the team and economy in WI is/was amazing..tickets were selling at outrageous prices due to favres presence... since he has left,,tickets are easy and cheap to come by.. store owners couldnt keep enough favre merchandise..as fast as it came in.. it went out..this year.. store owners are slower than ever on packers stuff..when favre was here..EVERYONE loved favre.. now he has keft and people/fans are bitter... they shouldnt be...without favre on that team.. reggie white doesnt come.. among others.. hence they never would have that super bowl ring.. and would stil be playing like they did in the 80's.. without favre they would have spent countless draft picks going for that QB of the future....and they would have gone through more coaches.than they had.. and TT would be blaming someone else everyday instead of taking the heat himself for letting favre go... i think favre should come back and retire as a packer.. and if the fans or organization dont want him or dont take him.. would be a showing of non respect for one of the greatest QBs ever to play.. and by far..the best QB in packers history... i put him just a little ahead of starr..... but..hey.. everyone has an opinion..... what did the 49ers fans think when montana or rice left there beloved teams??? what did the cowboys fans do or think when emmitt went to another team... i think if i remember right..they were opened armed when they came back and retired as a 49er or cowboy...and GB fans should be the same.. favre is/was an icon for this small team.. and gave this area and state alot of commercial business...my 2 cents

It's not a decision Favre can make. Borat is right that there is no helmet or team affiliation on the bust, because NFL enshrinees don't enter the HOF as a member of a certain team, they enter as an individual.

Yikes! I agree with some of this but most of it is exaggeration. You do know that high ticket prices only benefit the Broker and Scalper and the fan gets screwed? Lambeau Field has been sold out since the 60's.

So do you think Farve is more relevant to lagging merchandise sales than the economy? Is this affecting the rest of the country?

I was a big Favre Fan for years but his "will I / Won't I" retire act for his last four years in GB really got old. I was actually happy when he finally retired.

I say "Thanks for the 16 years Brett but now I don't care how or when you retire. I don't care who you go into the hall of fame as either". It just isn't important to me.

Packer Merchandise always sells it is slower now than the last 15 years because the team is not winning, economy sucks and also Favre is a Jet. Favre has lost a lot of fans over the last couple years with his will I or wont I retire offseasons.Favre was only part of the reason that the team turned around and won a Super Bowl. Men named Ron Wolf, Mike Holmgren, and Reggie White also has a lot to do with the turn around in Green Bay. White helped get Sean Jones and Keith Jackson to come to Green Bay. Santana Dotson stated one reason he came to GB was to play with Reggie also.

Favre already said is good bye to the GB fans, so there is no reason to come back and do it again. In a Packer Forum there is talk he would not do until Ted is gone any way. If comes back for a day or not is really not a big deal.

There is no way the Jets would let him come back to the Packers for a day. If he decides to unretire again then his rights would belong to GB again. It would be fun to watch the Packers/Favre carnival repeat itself, though.

They can easily reach an agreement that will allow this to happen.

When he accepted the trade the team reiterated it's offer of $20 million to be their representative. To work with the team after retirement.

You haters who want a feud between Green Bay and Favre lack understanding about that city(who owns the team), the fans and Favre. All will be forgiven.

That offer still might come back on the table when he is done playing football. Some people in the Packer front office know that a ton of fans relate to Favre and the Packers as one in the same.

correct above.. BUT WITHOUT FAVRE.. reggie would not have come.. and hence the after effects would not have happened either... no reggie, no sean jones,..and as far as ron wolf... what did he do?? he got favre.. other than that he didnt do squat.. his picks sucked.. good thing for wolf they had a rock solid qb or he would have wasted more picks finding a qb... favre WAS the reason they won..

It is obvious that we have nothing to talk about. I hope in the future you can pay $200 for a ticket just like the good old days. Taking an economic class wouldn't hurt either.
